5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant and uplifting film!
This film is absolutely amazing and I highly recommend people to see it! It's a shame how there is a lack of British films that come out which have pure substance.

The story here, I'm sure you know it. Four people go to a roof, not together by themselves, to end their lives. After all bumping into each other their one thing leads to another, which then leads to...

3.0 out of 5 stars A gently humorous kind of experience
Nick Hornby has had moderate success with his book-to-film adaptations, Fever Pitch and High Fidelity being the highlights. However, ‘A Long Way Down’ probably won’t be added to his list of (massive) successes. Don’t get me wrong... it’s not bad, it’s just not that memorable either.

Have you ever watched a film where...

3.0 out of 5 stars One to watch while ironing, 23 Sep 2014
This review is from: A Long Way Down (DVD)
Expected this to be quirkier than it was. 4 people meet on a rooftop on the same evening to commit suicide, they agree to wait awhile and then the film attempts to explain the reasons behind it. Bit of a buddy situation as they 'help' each other - no real answers but an ok watch

A long way down is a very heart warming, story of four people who haven't meet before one night.
After this one meeting they become a dysfunctional family in a way, looking out for each other and going that extra mile
This is a very good watch

5.0 out of 5 stars fantasticly raising awareness, 15 Sep 2014

Was truly moved by this film. As much as it was funny, it touched on such a highly sensitive issue and raised the issue that suicide is such an awful thing to contemplate but it isn't always the answer. Would highly recommend

I'm glad I didn't go to the pictures to see this but I did enjoy it (films fall into 2 categories - big screen and tv screen) but I love Aaron Paul ever since Breaking Bad and he delivers as a comic and a romantic. Nice.

not as funny as I had thought it would be but still in parts made me giggle and entertaining. Strange that from a dark issues we still found it light hearted, would watch it again.

Another NIck Hornby gem. British movies have to be supported - the stories are more believable than most Hollywood movies. Human drama with heart and life is worth living.

A strange oddity this but watchable. Brosnan and Collette are always watchable BUT Poots makes this this film with her witty potrayal of a sucide wannabe. Its enjoyable.

The film makes a credible attempt at portraying the excellent boob by Nick Hornby. However it falls short, in my mind, of the characters in the story.

Great cast and a good story line but I think the script let this down. Bronson holds this together and how often can you say that in a film!
