The jingoistic fantasies of a shameless panderer. This is not a man who loves rugby. He writes to feed the lowest feelings within the audience he has chosen to exploit. And it works - I see and hear his inventions in the words of less confident journalists and club rugby followers. Which means that, in the end, he is dragging our sport down. Can I give zero stars?

Stephen Jones never fails to get a reaction whether you agree with what he is saying or not. Some good stuff in here and a snapshot of 30 years as the most famous rugby journalist around.
Not sure the New Zealanders would agree though. Not just the big games but some well picked club/player features.
Well worth a look.

An outstanding book by one of the finest rugby writers...I disagree with some of his views but forgive him given his passion and eloquence in writing about the beautiful game that is rugby.

The book is a delightful pot pouri of rugby experiences...and well worth several re reads...like having an old friend in your back pocket...buy it and enjoy!

A very limited myopic view which mixes contradictions and random opinion with attempts at contraversy for the sake of it...rubbish.
