5.0 out of 5 stars Great series, 24 May 2011

This is one of the best series i'v read. You need to buy all books from "Safe Harbor" being the first to "Returning Tides" being the sixth. You will not be disappointed. Great characters, compelling story lines, you almost wish you lived in Provincetown.
The story is based on Tor & Reese who's initial meeting is somewhat frosty thanks to Tor. As the local doctor & sheriff they're constantly working close together and the perseverance of Reese melts Tor's defences.
They eventually set up home together and settle down to enjoy life in provincetown, but like most gripping story lines things don't quite go according to plan.
A few of the trials and tribulations they both handle together and sometimes separately are:
Tor's x lover turns up, making Tor question her life and the choices she made since leaving her x lover KT and their home in Boston. Reese is almost killed by an arsonist, she has another close call with death caused by a bacterial disease. She is reunited with her mother, which is the reason she moved to Provincetown. As a reserve marine she is called out to Iraq, which tests her relationship with Tor and makes Reese question herself about returning as a full time marine.
I could say so much more but all I will say is "buy the series" you will not be disappointed, in fact I bet you'll find yourself reading them twice.......enjoy.

A little more serious than the others, but still an amazing storyline. The character s are getting more and more like people I know, and I just want them to be ok and be in all the stories to come. Ange.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4th Provenicetown book, 14 July 2006
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book deals with a very real home truth. War. Reese Tory and their baby Reggie are thriving in home life. We know from the first book Reese was in the Marines before she left and came to provenicetown and met Tory. And knowing the War going on wonders what will happen. And it is just a seemingly normal morning when she recives a call from her father, saying her reserve unit has been activated to go to war.
Reese being the honorable person she is knows in her heart she has to go otherwise she couldn't live with herself and tells Tory. Who faced with the very real possiblity she could lose her struggles to hide her pain. You really feel the wait of their hearts as Reese leaves and Tory tries to be brave.
With Reese gone Tory has trouble going about her daily routine without her, but being so used the comfort and the solidness(i don't know if that is a real word.)of Reese being there struggles and with Bri keep checking on her, who looks so much like Reese. And Tory's nightmare looks like it comes true when she gets news Reese has been attacked and is missing...
The new story intoduces Ricarda Greci, who family is a crime family and Rica feels their pull, meets Carter Wayne a police officer. A police officer and a crime families daughter can't possibly fall in love can they?
All the other characters we met in the pevious books are still here but there time is very small.
On to book five Winds of Fortune: Provincetown Tales Series
