Crimson fans remember the 21st Century Schizoid Band, a bunch of Crimson alumni playing really early Crimson material from King Crimson's classical period. Well this is the The Crimson Projekct a bunch of Crimson alumni playing 80's to 90's Crimson material. The quality of the musicianship in both bands is without question, but without Mr. Fripp there was always going to be something missing. Saying that this album is still a must for all Crimheads.

With three members of King Crimson in this troop of brilliant musicians, this is a King Crimson's fan wet dream and this band (two trios) have been approved / endorsed by Mr Fripp before they started this tour.
There are no surprises in the track listing but what does emit from the speakers is nothing short of an aural assault. Great to see that two of the Crimson ProjeKCt have been asked to join Robert Fripp and his other band of musicians for yet another version of King Crimson.
You will not be disappointed with this disc.

The Crimson Projekct is a wonderful idea, combining Adrian Belew's Power Trio and Tony Levin's Stick Men (they play separate and combined sets) There are some wonderful renditions of King Crimson numbers here and this is well worth having as a live album of this material, although I guess the real contribution this collective provides is having this music played live by a group that contains 3 members of King Crimson.
The new lineup, recently announced by Mr Fripp, of the unexpectedly reformed King Crimson, will retain the services of Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto (Adrian Belew now being a former member as Jakko Jakszyk has taken over his role, following on from his work on Scarcity of Miracles) so there will be no overlapping tours of the Crimson ProjeKct and the new King Crimson but this is surely a great way of giving people access to the live Crimson Experience.
