Excruciatingly poor. Why do they bother making these low budget straight to video films. They're not entertaining anyone (apart from the cast and crew posting 5 star reviews here)... and they're not fooling anyone either (apart the brainless twerks who shove the vid in the shopping basket without thinking, after all, they're getting the DSS to foot the bill)... these...

On Christmas Eve, the prime ministers daughter (Christina Bellavia) is kidnapped, along with some of her friends. They are taken to an underground parking/office complex which is made secured. A team of SAS go into the facility to confront the bad guys, who are every bit as proficient as them. Tom Benedict Knight leads the SAS group. However the reason to watch the film is the dark comedy of sociopath Simon Phillips who holds people hostage, gives them hope, then a bullet.

There are grindhouse moments in the film with few slow scenes. The downfall of the film is the reason for the whole operation and the generic class warfare speeches spewed by Phillips toward the end.

Parental Guide: F-bombs. No sex or nudity. 3 1/2 stars on the strength of Phillips' performance.

Someone stop them.

1.0 out of 5 stars what the hell did I just watch!?, 19 Sep 2014
This review is from: He Who Dares [DVD] (DVD)
Unbelievable performance by the cast. Critics are hailing it the UK version of "heat" with Oscar performances throughout. The storyline was completely original and had me guessing throughout. The cinematography was just beautiful. If you believe any of that your a mug. The actors( I mean strangers) were pulled from the street and the film was financed with loose change they found whilst scouting for locations.

The dvd cover says"The Raid meets Die Hard".What it doesn't say is that it's done on a £25 budget!
The acting is poor, the editing & camera work is unfocused & all over the place,...I've seen a few shoddy films in my time but this is prob one of the worst.
Leave it on the shelf.

1.0 out of 5 stars Complete waste of time and money, 9 April 2014
This review is from: He Who Dares [DVD] (DVD)
Absolute rubbish!!! I've seen better quality story lines and
cinematography shot on a ten year old's ipod!! The story and characters
are totally unbelievable and how any producer could feel satisfied that
he invested wisely in this abomination is beyond me. Perhaps the writer
should have done some research on the characters and organisations that
he was trying to portray. There are countless books and even video
about the Special Air Service that he could have referred to, and the
fact that he didn't just goes to show what a complete idiot he is.
Soldiers serving in the elite SAS and any of our special forces for
that matter do not go running in like headless chickens without
confirmed orders (Iranian Embassy Siege 1980, the Police had to
formally hand over to the military, only after days of failed
negotiations) These men do not do "emotional" if they did perhaps they
wouldn't be members of the most revered and feared regiment throughout
the world. In summary, I agree totally with the reviewer above who said
you need a lobotomy to watch this, which is an operation that I am not
intending to have, so I've switched off the film and am throwing it in
the bin as soon as I've finished typing this. Spend your time and money
elsewhere!

1.0 out of 5 stars Rubbish, 10 Sep 2014
This review is from: He Who Dares (Blu-ray)
Complete rubbish. Totally unprofessional, the actors who betray the sas are not even wearing the correct uniform cloths. A basic and they can't get that right. Save a hour and half of your life. And don't watch this.
Unnecessary violent scenes.

1.0 out of 5 stars Who on Earth is giving this a good rating?, 10 April 2014

Did the actors club together and write some good reviews or something?

This is genuinely one of the worst films I have ever seen. Bad acting, major plot holes, no attention to detail or procedure.

It is a genuinely embarrassing Brit movie.

'The plans were lost in a fire at the town hall last week' Good grief.

'The Prime Ministers daughter's been kidnapped by terrorists?' Pained and confused look.

Oh please....

Anyway, do yourself a favour and watch Who Dares Wins Instead, much better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worse than reality tv, 11 April 2014
This review is from: He Who Dares [DVD] (DVD)
This film is truly diabolical, it's like watching a cross between TOWIE and Big Brother although I suspect these two have a bigger production budget (and possibly better acting)! How the films strap line on the case can say 'the raid meets die hard'. This is worse than some college projects I've seen. It's a disgrace to British film industry.

1.0 out of 5 stars COULD HAVE BEEN GOOD BUT NO?, 26 April 2014

Poor acting, and even worse directing made this film so unrealistic and bad. The flashes between scenes, an shaking dont know what it was supposed to do but it looked like my son had shot the film, no he could have done better. The script was moderate, but the unconvincing actor,s made it childish..although violent, it just did not cut it. I wouldnt pay to see this film, I wouldnt watch the film again, and if they paid the actor,s and director they should ask for their money back, wish I could have..poor isnt the word to say.
