Of course its dated but thats part of the fun. Blood Sucking Freaks endures because its high camp and endlessly entertaining. Theres literally not a dull moment. If you want gore and sadism you get them literally every couple of minutes or so. If you want nudity the film is filled with it. If you want laughs you have sadistic dwarf Ralphus. 3.0 out of 5 stars Save Yourself Some Money - Buy From Fopp!
You'll either love this film, because you've seen it already and know what to expect, or you'll hate it with a vengeance, due to the content. Either way, it's certainly one-of-a-kind.

However, despite pre-ordering this a couple of months back, for £12-76, Amazon have just stated that they will not price-match other retail shops, and so, I felt it prudent to...

5.0 out of 5 stars 88 Films blu-ray, 8 April 2014

Of course its dated but thats part of the fun. Blood Sucking Freaks endures because its high camp and endlessly entertaining. Theres literally not a dull moment. If you want gore and sadism you get them literally every couple of minutes or so. If you want nudity the film is filled with it. If you want laughs you have sadistic dwarf Ralphus. A film unlike any other.

88 Films' blu-ray of Blood Sucking Freaks is in widescreen. The picture is 1080p high def but has not been restored. There are plenty of scratches especially in the first five minutes and print is faded often on righthand side of screen. But it still looks better than the old DVD and looks like film, just dont expect a really clean transfer. It wouldnt suit a film this sleazy anyway! Audio is clean.

And yes its uncut! Nipple clamping, brain sucking, leg chainsawing, finger crushing, bum darting, are all intact.

Extras are Eli Roth commentary, a trailer, Lloyd Kaufman intro, 4 minutes where Roth meets cast members, other troma trailers and a couple of daft Troma featurettes.

Region A/B/C.

5.0 out of 5 stars 88 films Blu-Ray edition., 28 April 2014

This review is from: Bloodsucking Freaks - Extreme Uncut Collector's Edition [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
The edition comes with a very nice and slip case and the cover art underneath the slip case is a very sleazy piece by artist Rick Melton. A very interesting little booklet is also included as is reversible sleeve art. The transfer looks very good considering the very low quality of the original print of the film. This a great edition that I would highly recommended to other collectors.

3.0 out of 5 stars Save Yourself Some Money - Buy From Fopp!, 17 April 2014

You'll either love this film, because you've seen it already and know what to expect, or you'll hate it with a vengeance, due to the content. Either way, it's certainly one-of-a-kind.

However, despite pre-ordering this a couple of months back, for £12-76, Amazon have just stated that they will not price-match other retail shops, and so, I felt it prudent to inform purchasers of this film, that you can save yourself substantial money off of Amazon's current order price of £14 as Fopp stores are selling this on Blu-Ray for £10, from the day-of-release - Monday 21st April.

So, I would recommend to fans, that they should take their business elsewhere. Just as I am doing! Amazon Order cancelled, and money going to Fopp! :)

Amazon's Customer Service disappoints me greatly!

5.0 out of 5 stars "..CLASSIC TROMA EXPLOITATION..", 18 April 2014

This is a crazy 70's movie about a weird back street Soho theatre of macabre that kills people on stage, and although they think its clever illusions its actually real, the movie is extremely cheesy and badly acted but its classic old-school exploitation filmmaking at is best chock full of nudity and female torture practically throughout the films entire run time, there is plenty of blood and gore, it all looks like paint but its great fun if you love this type of sicko horror shock genre then its a must, this is a great Blu-ray version with lots of cool features including a commentary with Eli Roth who is a fan, plus lots of Troma stuff, this is the first real full release of this movie in the UK, the black cover is a limited edition slip case and the Blu-ray inside features very cool artwork from the film, really worth the money and one of the best releases yet for the great 88 films!! keep the classics coming!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Ultra Low Budget sick movie, just dull gory ...!!, 16 Sept. 2014
By
This review is from: Bloodsucking Freaks - Extreme Uncut Collector's Edition [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
Remember the times when in the 60's Herschell Gordon Lewis reinvented cinema horror movies, with lots of blood and guts. Utterly disturbing, violent and really sick. Well Joel Reed thought gore is the seller, so he took on the Grand Guignol theatre where the audience is live involved with really sick stuff. Young females are mutilated, dismembered or tortured right in front of your very eyes. There is a lot of gore here, yes, but what's that point??

The scene were one of the maniacs (a would be doctor) sucks out a woman's brain with a straw are the most disgusting, disturbing, repugnant scenes ever put on film.

Reed must have been stoned during the production or he's just a sick f... ! Well I don't know, an offensive film with no message, no goal, no nothing. Watch it and ruin your weekend.

Garbage!!!!

I have had a dvd of the uncut version for many years..It may have been violent for it's time but it is very mild today..Rather hammy acting (if you would call it acting!).It borders on being a comedy when seen today. It never shocked me when it was originally released .
