Another great idea from SUCK UK! There is so much to like about this bottle light, although it it isn't 100% perfect. It looks great and produces a lovely ambient glow when placed inside a bottle, which lasts a good amount of time. This isn't bright enough to light up a room, but creates beautiful mood lighting. For added effect, it might be worth purchasing a few of these to place around the room (it makes a good excuse to buy a few extra bottles of wine anyway). If you pop off the cork section, you will find a USB which you can easily plug into a laptop to charge the light up again. The only real problem I have found with this product is that it doesn't fit snugly in a lot of standard wine bottles, instead just resting lightly in the top of them. However, if you're willing to accept this or go through the torment of trying out a few different wines (just for the bottle ;-)), you can't go far wrong. Brilliant as a fun gift for yourself or someone else!

My 1st comment about this USB bottle light is about how difficult it was to unpack. I almost needed a pair of bolt cutters get into it.

Once unpacked however, I was very pleased with the look of the light. The USB charge port is hidden by a very realistic cork. Twisting the other end causes the light to come on, it was already charged. I plugged it into my computer for the day to make sure it was topped up completely.

In the evening I put it into an empty wine bottle, and it stayed lit for the entire evening acting as a very nice table ornament.

The video on the website shows it being plugged into a mains charger, please note this charger is not supplied.

If it still works in a weeks time I will probably buy several more, other reviewers have stated it is not very reliable, time will tell.

Great item !!!! Has already been used during the latest power cut which happen quite frequently here due to very old power lines. Will recommend to friends and family.

This is a neat little invention, I’m a bit of a sucker for this kind of thing (no pun on the suppliers’ name intended) so I’ll give it five stars. Its big selling point to me is that it is likely to appeal to my grandchildren and that it is perfectly safe so far as I can see. I suppose this means that I need to buy quite a few of the units, but there we go – it’s for the grandchildren.

The light is bright for an ornament, but I can’t really envisage much practical use unless perhaps in the event of a total power failure, for which most householders will own a torch or two anyway. Dealing first with the practical aspects, it comes up to specification very well. It is advertised as being rechargeable in an hour, and this is true. I gave it an hour and 8 minutes and it had finished charging within that time. There is an internal red charging light, and it turns off when the charging is complete – excellent. Charging is through the USB port concealed inside the ‘cork’, and you may have to buy a USB-compatible wall plug. The light wouldn’t fit the narrow USB connections on my rather traditional desktop machine, and I suspect that would not have provided enough power anyway. Three hours’ use is claimed following charge, but I am getting more than 12 hours’ worth out of it, and the light stays bright for well over three hours.

It doesn’t actually fit bottles very neatly, i.e. the illusion of a cork is not very exact as the plastic shows between bottle and cork, but who cares? It is going to look best in darkened corners where nobody will be looking all that closely. The time-window allowed for reviewing does not permit extended trialling, and there may also be bottles that will offer a more precise fit. To satisfy these criteria I can only suggest buy more bottles.

This is an interesting device that is best in the hands of someone a bit creative. Putting a single one in a bottle doesn't look great, but several of these in bottles around a garden could look nice. Alternatively a single unit used to pick out a particular container might work well indoors. I have a glass skull decanter that looked quite good with this, especially after filling it with red squash.

Pros
+bright light
+looks pretty good, not out of place
+Convenient USB charging
+does what it claims to

Cons
-Expensive
-Sits in the bottle without "fitting", meaning it is not secured in place in any way and easy to knock out
-Lots of light spill means the bottle spout is illuminated significantly more than anything else
-USB charging is great for a single unit, but if you had several for a display it could rapidly become a problem

Really there are cheaper and better options available. Personally I would use the kind of light that lights up a bottle from underneath as it gives a much nicer effect. For outdoors I would also look for something with inbuilt solar charging.

This is such a lovely idea, executed perfectly in a clever design.

The cork pops off to reveal a USB connection - you just use this to recharge the LED light. Once charged, you just drop the device onto the top of any bottle for an instant outdoor light. Perfect for camping or nights in the garden with the family.

These would make a great, unusual present too.

From a company with an unfortunate name , this is a really well designed bottle light. It's smaller than I imagined it to be, and will only fit fairly narrow necked bottles. If you bought one of the antique type bottles that you see in the shops these days, it would provide a decorative and useful function. The whole thing is tapered like a cork, the bottom half being a USB light, with a removable cork type cap.the light charges up in a USB plug, only taking about an hour. It's a neat and stylish thing on it's own, and you could use it like a key fob light ( without the key fob of course :) ), in the sense that it's a handy little light for seeing where the keyhole is, when opening the door, if you get my gist. This is probably what I'll use it for, as it is easy to turn off and on, and gives plenty of bright light, so you could keep it in your handbag or pocket, and use it like a little torch. Anyway, care what you want to do with it, this novelty light is a nice idea which works well...happy shining :).

A great little novelty cork that has an LED light that directs downwards into a bottle.

The cork is USB charged so means no messing around with batteries. I can see the novelty wearing off pretty soon but it'll come in handy for mood lighting a bottle of whiskey or whatever during poker.

Recommended for the quality and novelty.
