5.0 out of 5 stars A FIRST CLASS BOOK
In November 1953 the great Welsh poet Dylan Thomas died in a New York hospital. In this novel rich in histroic detil the dying Dylan looks back on his life.
It painfts picture of the poet as man ruined by drink and burnt out, some may contest this but at thiis price you can not go wrong. A great read.

Very disappointed. I really thought Dylan Thomas was a nicer character than this portrait of him. I love some of his work, but after reading most of this book I found myself disliking him. Got so fed up with the let down didn't bother finishing the book.

Interesting and original little novella with No Good Boyo Dylan Thomas lying on his deathbed in New York reflecting on his short yet full life. Naturally and in keeping, Dylan paints a rather glowing account of himself with just a few scraps of remorse along the way to the 18 straight whiskies that finally did for him. Genius rarely comes well mannered and polite and Dylan was no exception to that rule yet here I actually feel just a little sorry for him as he embarks on his road to destruction.

An excellent biographical introduction to one of the previous century's greatest poets, well worth the money.

The author imagines Dylan Thomas' thoughts as he reviews his life when he lays dying in a New York hospital. I am sure that Dylan would have achieved more if he had been more disciplined and drank less. This book is an interesting tribute to a great poet.

then look no further than this. Written in the style of the subject, gives a good overview of the man and his very colorful life.

The abrupt end ...just felt a paragraph or two short. Otherwise, would definitely recommend for a great quick read, gives a good feel into the life of the poet....ups and downs !
