Odyssey were one of the brightest, fruitiest sounds of the disco era, and a class act. There is no hint of vulgarity about their vibe such as you might find in Boney M, who were probably more successful, but Odyssey are one of the bands that mattered the most of this life-enhancing, much maligned musical phenomenon ... As if to prove this, Chic wrote and produced the first track on this album, called Together. The surprise is that, good as it is, and truly funky, Inside Out which follows is better still, sung by the other singer with the higher voice (I don't know their names). Happy Together bounces like a ball in the bass guitar, a big shiny ball that is like pure sex in its shiny smell and bounciness. The girls pose in stunning, shimmering gold and sing like goddesses, with a laid-back groove however funky the dressing up of the sound. With a number of remixes included, it is a hard package to resist.

their best album finally on CD, includes the fantastic Chic written track 'Together'. Buy it, brilliant. Buy all of their re-issues and seek out their one other original release 'Joy', gorgeous music..

In the UK Odyssey could do no wrong, they were a smash. These three people had the raw talent they had what it takes to sing and pull off the sound that moved people in the best way possible.
Their big smash hit in summer of 1982, was 'Inside out' and it was written and composed by a scottish man called Jessie rae, who had his own minor success in 1985 with 'over the sea'.
Its funny what convieniently gets written out of history, who'd have thought a scottish white man would have been responsible for Odyssey's biggest hit.
Lovely groove for lovely party's
