This one has grown on me if for no other reason than the songs just nag away at you until on the third or fourth listen you are singing along and you cannot get them out of your head. Andy Summers' familiar guitar style, as heard in the Police, is used sparingly throughout the album, almost as if to say "you DO know who the guitarist is don't you?" but what I particularly enjoy are the moments when he lets rip in a most unPolice style with a searing solo or two. Having said that, some tracks - Gamma Ray for example, would not have been out of place on one of the later Police albums even if the chorus is as U2 as you would wish. With that in mind, if you also forgive Rob Giles' occasional lapses into sounding just a tad like Bono (the pun in the album title shows that this band has a degree of humour and self awareness not always apparent with the latter) and you are looking for melodic, toe tapping music then this is for you. An easy comparison would be to say that this album is as good a Police/U2 as you could wish for and I rather like it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great driving music, 21 May 2014

I was attracted to buy this CD purely because I love Andy Summers style of playing, especially when he's more jazzy. The album though is driving rock from start to finish, with some catchy songs that stick in your head on repeat playing. Andy shows his full repertoire of guitar playing from chiming chords a la Police, through full on solos more like Deep Purple and some lighter stuff too. I had never heard of Rob Giles but he's a strong vocalist, somewhat similar to Bono on some tracks. Great album that has been accompanying my daily commute for the last few weeks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great First Album!!, 26 May 2014

Have really enjoyed this first effort from Circa Zero. The playing on all levels I personally feel is great, but Andy's guitar playing really shines through!! The song writing on the whole is strong. The opening piece, 'Levitation', is strong, but sadly (for me) the two following tracks are the weakest on the album- 'Underground' and 'The Story Ends Here'. After that though, for the remainder of the ablum the tracks are very good, with a few small traces of that classic Police sound!

I recommend purchasing and enjoying!

On the whole, a great first album!!

Not as good as I was expecting but needs a few listens to get into it. Not bad considering Andy Summers is in his seventies now.
