This book isn't so bad that it prevented me reading the whole thing. That said, it was a close call. The story is what I'd class as standard fantasy fare; with characters that are okay. Although they're not really engaging and there's no real character development.
The scariest thing about this book is its grammar. The spelling in it is mostly okay. While I'm no expert, it looks like every page has at least one (generally several) glaringly obvious grammatical errors. There are sentences made up of apparently random words. Verb tenses change within the same paragraph and at times even within the same sentence.
The one that stuck in my head most was something along the lines of "Diane grinded her teeth". I just can't accept grinded as a past participle of grind, even if it has seen occasional use outside of American sport. A little later in the book this became "Diane grounded her teeth", which left me wondering if they'd started flying around in her mouth.
If you can overlook the atrocious grammar then this book is okay, but only as a free read or as part of Kindle unlimited.
