Good story, shame about the detail!
on 15 May 2014
First of all I would like to say I am a long term Kindle reader and I am aware of the problems a lot of e-books have with the editing and proofing of these products. That said most are ok and you can forgive the odd typo.
Michael G. Thomas should be ashamed of this book.
The story holds a great deal of promise and is reasonably structured, but the biggest problem by far is the appalling editing - I am not even sure it has been edited! The number of miss spellings is only acceptable when compared to the shambolic way the blocks of writing hang together, the story changes direction in midsentence and characters that are doing one thing are suddenly doing another or even contradicting themselves. It gives me the idea that this has been assembled from blocks of writing and sewn together rather poorly - you can see the joints.
This book has never been properly proofed is obvious - it would never have got to print in this condition.
That said I have given 3 stars as it has potential to be a great story if the editing problems can be fixed. The portrayal of the Biomechs is a little confused and could do with revision as could the leading protagonists. Perhaps the whole thing would benefit from a re-write to tighten it up and develop characters and plot.
On the whole a good try but could be so much better.
I have just begun the second trilogy and I have to say I am looking at it in trepidation for what I may discover.
