5.0 out of 5 stars Military Aviation. The untold Stories!
Having been Aircrew myself, in the military, I can so relate to the stories in this fantastic book. Very well written and a great read from cover to cover. Would be great to see volume 2 sometime as am sure that many stories are still untold.

3.0 out of 5 stars What a great read
I never realised what these guys went through doing their jobs, they saw more fires than the local fire brigade, usually at height!

Good light entertainment for the military flying enthusiast. This was the ultimate machine when I was a flyer but I never got to fly one. We always knew that it was a dangerous beast and this book illustrates just how sharp you had to be to keep up with the machine and how quickly things could get away from you. Harks back to arguably the very best time to be a RAF fast jet pilot - no computers to help, just raw skill and nerve.

If you have the slightest interest in RAF aviation from 1960 onwards then this is a gem of a read, really good to read firsthand the accounts of these pioneering flyers.

well - that was my reaction! If you've got any connection with the RAF chances are you'll recognise the places and events (or something very similar) mentioned in the book. I was disappointed when I got to the end! PLEASE do a sequel!

interesting tales and anecdotes but the captions to the photos are all wrong for example a picture of a Hawker Hunter is labeled as a Currie Wot, a Hercules as a Jet Provost Mk5.

A series of short stories, all interesting, some funny (usually at the authors expense), this was a very interesting and quite lengthy read. Worth every minute in my opinion!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great collection of anecdotes., 11 April 2015
This review is from: Out of the Blue: The Sometimes Scary and Often Funny World of Flying in the Royal Air Force, as Told by Some of Those Who Were There (Kindle Edition)
Being honest, I skipped a couple of the tales, as I didn't like the style that they were written in, but the rest were excellent, making this book great value for money.
