On the one hand, this is a perfect introduction to the label to newcomers. Great selection of tracks. Intelligent split between the hits on disc one and the less familiar, yet excellent, tracks on disc two.

On the other hand, amongst the majority of previously released tracks, this also offers a few rarities for the label's dedicated fan. For instance a new version of 'When Your Heart Runs Out of Time' by Glenn Gregory & Claudia Brücken, or the previously unreleased 7" version of 'Sleepwalking' by Instinct.

Overall this compilation is a pleasure to listen to – the sequencing works well – and is a more effective introduction to the label's varied catalogue than the 3xCD+DVD box set released some years ago.

Artists on ZTT are in a culture of their own, but very easy going music also. Everybody must like something on this.

Interesting but to my jaded ears not all fully essential.
Suggest individual groups greatest might be more rewarding (when does Sir Trev get his gong?) Probably the closest Britain got to Phil Spector (without the murder angle...)
