Let down by idiosyncratic engineering design
on 26 December 2014
UPDATE: - Since I wrote this, EasyAcc have been in touch and sent a replacement device, which I appreciate as good customer service. I've edited my review and increased my rating as a result.
It's a nice looking device, bags of capacity, charges up really quickly. Slightly annoying having to know the charge current for your device and use the right hole, but it works well.
Biggest downside is the power input. It has a fast charger that is great in that it charges the battery in a handful of hours, but awful in that the socket isn't a standard size in the UK. When I lost the power adapter to mine, EasyAcc couldn't sell me a new power adapter and their customer support pointed me towards a charger that I couldn't find an equivalent for in the UK (and e.g. Maplin didn't have the parts to construct one either...). There isn't a failover slow-charge USB input: Losing the power adapter bricks the device.
