5.0 out of 5 stars "Silver Bullets Begin To Fly - The Superhuman Ain't Afraid To Die...."
Hairy Chested Rock is alive and well and living within the band known as House Of Lords!
I've said it before and I'll say it again - James Christian and Jimi Bell, for me, can do no wrong. They write and play from the heart and only vary between melodic rock and power ballads - it's a bit like in the past we used to attend the NEC at Christmas time to witness the...

all said with the above. Dream Theater, Benedictum have contributed to innovating Hard Rock. But this is not new. o.k. for people who like the same all over again.

Hairy Chested Rock is alive and well and living within the band known as House Of Lords!
I've said it before and I'll say it again - James Christian and Jimi Bell, for me, can do no wrong. They write and play from the heart and only vary between melodic rock and power ballads - it's a bit like in the past we used to attend the NEC at Christmas time to witness the Christmas shows of Gary Glitter and Status Quo because you KNEW exactly what you were going to get - nothing complicated, nothing fancy, just a great audio/visual experience. And, with House Of Lords you know that you'll get nothing fancy, nothing complicated just straightforward tunes with good melodic harmonies and a smattering of Mick Box-esque solos.
Sure, they don't push the envelope and some of the lyrics are truly cringeworthy....but that's the whole point - does exactly what it says on the tin! And long may it continue.....
So, dust off the air-guitar, turn the volume up to 11 and howl along to Enemy Within, Swimming With The Sharks, Raw, Action etc and you'll thoroughly enjoy yourself if this genre of music is evenly remotely on your radar!

4.0 out of 5 stars One of HOLS Best!, 26 Feb. 2014

I like the House of Lords albums "Come To My Kingdom" "World Upside Down" and "Cartesian Dreams" but did not care for their last album "Big Money" which I did sample a while back...... but "Precious Metal" is more to my liking, much more consistent and more uptempo. Lets cut to the chase here "Precious Metal" has to be one of House of Lords best efforts to date! Certainly of the same ilk as the HOL albums that I just mentioned and a welcome return to form, if you follow this band I am sure you can go ahead and buy this blindfolded, the music is for the most part up tempo which I do prefer. So 4 stars from me then but in time that could easily change to 5. GO CHECK THIS OUT!

I used to like House of Lords in the late 80s but wasn't aware they were still going. However this latest release demonstrates why they should still be around and with songwriting as good as this they should be a bigger name. The songs as you would expect are pretty commercial and still hark back to the 80s style but with a more interesting tilt in terms of key changes and production. The guitar playing is great but it's the vocals that really make this album - both the tone and the melodies. There are probably only 2 songs that maybe are not quite up to the same level as the rest of the album but this really is a great album and I would definitely recommend
