Beware all these are first in series...to be continued
on 15 December 2014
My advice would be check out the number of books in the series and the cost before you start reading, these are all free individually anyway but for example there's at least six books in the Ruby Ring series so it can work out expensive.
I read this book back in 2012 and wanted to continue on so I checked the reviews for the next book 'Eternal Destiny' and they were all good, really good so I downloaded the book and got started. Now at this point I wasn't reviewing, I'd only written one review and that was for a book written by a friend of a friend which I'd been surprised to discover I really enjoyed, not my genre, anyway 'Eternal Destiny' had gaping holes in the story, parts of it didn't make sense at all and bits contradicted other parts.
This book is one of the reasons I started reviewing because I couldn't understand how a book which obviously didn't make sense could get 5 star reviews, had these people not read the book and there's no argument that it didn't make sense since changes had to be made to the first book and a character taken out completely just to make it fit, so while I personally no longer read books by this author I did enjoy the first book enough to buy the second and had that made sense I would most likely have continued on.
My original review from November 2012 beware contains SPOILERS
I don't often review books and I've never given a negative review before. I read the first book (free read) and the reviews were so good I purchased the second now I'm confused because no one else mentioned it but they seem very good at spotting the ruby immortal rings so when they killed Grace thinking she was Elizabeth no one noticed that she wasn't wearing one which, since it was common knowledge she was mated to Charles she should have been. Then thinking that they'd killed Elizabeth no one seemed at all surprised that Charles was still alive when he would have died when she did. I've given this book only 1 star because this spoilt the rest of the book for me I only continued reading in the hope that this would somehow be explained away, now I did skim read the rest since my heart was no longer in it so if I missed the answer let me know but as it stands I won't read anything by this author again.
A comment was made about my review by Donna Johnson explaining that she would fix this problem, apparently she's gone back to book one and changed the ending and completely taken out Prince Charles leaving Sarah to go looking only for Gloria. Hopefully this made the book make sense and anyone reading this after the changes on 14th Nov 2012 should be ok.
