5.0 out of 5 stars Page turner!
This book features the Victorian solicitor who appeared in 'Dracula', who has a sideline investigating occult events. It's a really good read. Lots of dry humour and an authentic period feel. The same author has also published the 'Hester Lynton' Kindle books about two lady Victorian detectives which I loved too.

I don't think this was a bad story, it just wasn't for me. Tony Evans captures the spirit of Jonathan barker but for people looking for the horror of Dracula, look elsewhere.

but for something quick and fairly easy to read devil may cry succeeded

I really enjoyed this more than I thought I would, although the book is really short and the story at times seemed really rushed. Still a good short read with an element of the supernatural!

This is a great premise for a novel and I enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to reading more and seeing how the author develops Mina and Jonathan

2.0 out of 5 stars Potential to be awesome, but..., 15 Dec. 2013

Potential to be awesome, but the characters are too wooden, the conversation between everyone just doesn't flow. Too much information is given away without any prompts which makes them sound unnatural. There is no suspense and detail is looked over consistently!

I know it's a novella, but if the author had written about 40/50 more pages and spread the story properly, it could have been pretty good!
