5.0 out of 5 stars A very easy read
The range of authors meant that there was something for everyone. At such a busy time it's nice to be able to take a little time out to read a complete story. It was extremely good value for money.

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars plenty of reading
for a compilation of short stories from different authors most of the stories were pretty good and enjoyable to read. there were a lot of stories written by by-s gone authors who i had never read before so it was interesting to read them.

I bought this on the basis that at that price I couldn't go wrong - and I didn't! There are several stories linked loosely under several Christmas themes, written by authors current and past, some very familiar names, and some who were apparently hugely successful in their day, but have since been forgotten. As with the Mammoth Books, the editor has provided a snippet of information about each author before their story, and very interesting reading some of it is, too.

As you would expect, some of the mysteries have travelled well, while others are a little dated, but overall it's an excellent and absorbing anthology, worth every penny.

It's a great book to dip in and out of. Many authors many of us will have read, but some new ones to explore too. A good way to find new authors to read for their full-length novels.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Value, 13 Mar 2014
This review is from: The Big Book of Christmas Mysteries: The Most Complete Collection of Yuletide Whodunits Ever Assembled (Kindle Edition)
Downloaded this book a while ago for 59p, only just got round to reading it, there's a good mixture of stories, some of the authors i'd heard of, some i hadn't.
There's stories about miss marple, rumpole of the bailey, sherlock holmes (also a brilliant spoof, herlock sholmes)
There are 59 stories altogether, so there's plenty of choice, some really old ones some up to date ones, some good, some bad.
