I bought this box set on the back of the reviews here. I read the first one, it was readable, patchy and unbelievable - even for paranormal romance, but I persevered to the end. Slowly over three or four days. I just kept thinking it was going to get better. It never did. It might be just me, but when did sex replace content or story or believability?
Then on I went to the second book, which was even worse. We stumbled from one situation to another with no causative link, reason or explanation. I simply could not be bothered finishing it, which is an absolute first for me.
It would be unfair of me to offer any comment on the other books in this box set, sincerely I would rather read a bus timetable, at least it makes sense.

I caught one of Roth's novellas in another box set and quite enjoyed her writing style, so thought I'd check out some of her other works, this being my first purchase.
I've enjoyed this series so far and will be looking out for the other titles. The books all follow the usual "shifter looking for his soul mate" theme, but there is an intersecting main theme running through the series (I won't say what/who though, no spoilers here) and its an interesting angle IMHO.
There are a few editing mistakes (in one of the earlier stories General Newman suddenly becomes General Carter for a few pages) and a couple of out of context words (obvious use of spell checker vs human editing I think) but this doesn't detract from the storyline really, and sometimes I can be a bit pedantic over these things, but it does bug me that the same care doesn't seen to be taken with e-books as with printed material. We still pay good money for them you know!
The stories are quite short, I went through the whole 4 book set in about a day and a half, but they're fairly fast paced and I did get drawn in to the characters. Personally I think my favourite book out of the four was the last one, although I think I'm a bit biased there as Wilson does make me laugh. I like a lovable rogue.
On the whole it's an easy reading style; the storylines are along a military/special ops vein, with a bit of romance and a few sexy scenes thrown in, but not to the point where it's sex for the sake of filling pages. There's also a good amount of banter between the guys on the team, which is amusing.
Would recommend this set to anyone with a love of shifter based stories.

Contains adult situations, sex, paranormal themes, violence, and is not intended for the faint of heart.

I do like it when you get a book/box set etc where the characters are actually humorous as well as just top-notch Alpha Male. The repartee between the males and the females in this set of books is a joy to read and there are some real LOL moments. Each of these characters is multi-layered and you get a real insight into them as a person and how their relationship with their mate affects their life and 'job' and effects them as a person. One of the aspects of these books, the blood and the power transfer, was something that I have not read before and thought was a very clever twist on a genre where it is increasingly difficult to have anything 'new'.

I loved the stories and how they followed on from each other. I think, if I absolutely had to choose, then my favourites would be the first and the last stories in this set. I am loving this series and am waiting quite happily for the next in this series. The stories are short(ish), HOT, funny and with lots of action - of every sort! Take the warning though - if you can't handle the heat, stay out of Immortal Ops ;)

Why did it take so long for me to discover this author? She has now joined the ranks of my best reads, including Christine Feehan, Naomi Singh, Sherilyn Kenyon, etc. Great characters, action packed from the start, with HARD to read sex scenes ;)

If you like perverted sex this will be a good set of books for you . I knew it was adult reading only but thought that was because of the violence. I love paranormal books usually but found most stories more about the sex than the story.

I enjoyed all of these books and felt that, as a boxed set with a low price, it was well worth getting. I would not have paid a few pounds each for the individual books, but felt I got good value for money with the boxed set.

These are easy to read. Some of the stories are better than others. Some of the texts are repetitive and predictable. An OK read but not something that I would revisit. I enjoy a good shifter story but can't say that these were my favorite.

This review has been a long time coming! I got my kindle for Christmas 2013 and this was my first purchase. Now let me just say I LOVE the immortal ops! Each and every one of them I love every individuals story, I have my favourites and I have an image of each locked into my mind, I love having Mandy days where I don't move from the couch cos I'm in another world! I love where Mandy takes me with her writing I proceeded to contact her to tell her this too and she is very good at replying and taking reader views into account an all round fantastic author, I recommend all immortal ops books they are well worth a read! Thanks Mandy!
