John Rae comes across as both a genuinely nice man and keen to solve a lifetime question. This book takes us on this journey and it is, at times, quite enthralling. He meets a number of doubters and believers, but remains amazingly objective on what is, for some, a very emotive topic.

If you have an open mind on the belief of God you will enjoy this as a good read and educational at one and the same time. I'd be surprised if you didn't come to your own conclusions by the time you have reached the last page.

In the year before he died in 2006 John Rae wanted to make the journey to discover what he believed. This is the first book on Chhristianity and belief that I have became totally involved in. So many of us are in the same state as John was. It is wonderful to go with him on his voyage of discovery.

5.0 out of 5 stars totally riveting, 1 Dec 2013

John Rae writes in a clear and understandable way about the questions that plague many a 'thinking nonbeliever', I found that his readability gave me more time to deeply ponder on his questions and at the end of his journey I found peace of mind.

4.0 out of 5 stars Theology or Nothing ?, 3 Dec 2013

I think it is very thought procovative but the accounts of the interviews, with the various believers or non believers, are rather brief and possibly a little superficial. Nevertheless I enjoyed it enormously,
