Love this gritty third instalment to the Hard Rock Roots series. Yet another cliffhanger! This woman is killing me!
The author's writing style is down to earth, straight talking and in alternate POV's. The storyline is a bit like an erotic/rock star/thriller all in one book.
If you don't mind swearing or you're easily offended - don't buy this book. But, like me, if you like a good rocker romance, complete with real characters that swear like troopers and don't care who they offend - then DEFINITELY buy this book!

These books are brilliant! I get totally sucked into the story and this one is no different. This story is about Ronnie and Lola. We finally get to understand what has been happening to Naomi and just how twisted the skinny anorexic really is. Not sure why what is happening is going on, there is more to this, of that I am sure.
But the ending to this book is just cruel even though CM apologises for the cliff hanger I am now off to pre-order the next one.

Having loved "Real Ugly" and "Get Bent" I just couldn't wait to get started with Tough Luck. I have loved the series so far and couldn't wait to find out more of why Turner and Naomi and their respective bands, "Indecency" and "Amatory Riot" were being targeted.
This story centres around Ronnie McGuire the deeply troubled drummer with Indecency. It's hard to believe that at 28 one person could have so much sadness and chaos in life but that's exactly where Ronnie's life is. Pumped up on a life of drugs, booze and sex, he lives day by day trying to find a way to move on from the loss of the love of his life 10 years previous.
Lola Saints is the fallen angel Ronnie turns to unbeknownst to him though she has her own agenda. Lola, a drummer with Fire and Ice, is embroiled in a plan to bring Indecency and Amatory Riot to their knees and to claim the fame, fortune and glory for themselves.
Lola's life is far from uncomplicated and she too has her fair share of baggage. Tasked with getting under Ronnie's skin, Lola soon finds herself falling for him and questioning her motives.
These books are simply raw with an edginess to them which captures the imagination. I would recommend reading the series of books close together though as I was struggling to remember the many dimensions from Get Bent which fed into Tough Luck.
My only disappointment with this book, and it's a biggie, is that it ended in a CLIFF HANGER!!!! So, if you're like me and likely to self-combust at the ending, I'd wait until nearer to Bad Day's release date. That said, this is simply one of the best book series I've read this year.
