Resolution (sort of)
on 5 May 2014
Robert Reed doesn't seem to be much of a finisher, with 'The Well of Stars' and 'Beneath the Gated Sky' being two unfinished trilogies. Reed puts this right to some extent with this collection of Short Stories, the last of which serves as a partial resolution to the cliffhanger we were handed ten years ago in 'The Well of Stars'. This collection meshes together well and complements the aforementioned novel and its predecessor, 'Marrow', giving fans a sustained fix of this great universe. There are numerous typos in the Kindle version and I could also criticize the overuse of particular words (sweet, darling, dear, please) but Reed's work is genuinely enjoyable and well worth it for the price.
