This review is from: Sympathy For The Devil (Kindle Edition)
How about having some sympathy for an actual devil? I could imagine the idea for this book first hitting author Gregg Levine’s head years ago—I could imagine him chuckle, “No, that’s impossible.” Then he does a double-take, as “Eureka!” screams in his head: the result is this book: a sweeping, grandiose and mind-blowing tale about a fallen angel who finally makes a run for the unthinkable: find redemption. And then some.

At its heart, the premise of ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ is beguilingly simple: a murder mystery, with a string of grisly murders, baffles and consumes investigator Donavan Diego. But the catch: the evidence seems to point to Donavan Diego as a primary suspect. As it turns out, it’s part of the grand plan of a mysterious being called “the Master”, and solving this mystery—and reading through baffling conundrums and clever red herrings is what will keep you glued to the book’s pages.

‘Sympathy for the Devil’ is not one of those paranormal books you find these days that inject the paranormal just to be fashionable. The author has an uncanny knack for throwing a lot of plot twists in your path just to make your head spin, and just when you start to think you’ve got it figured out, you again find a blank wall and a subtle hint toward a new direction. That’s why this book is such an immensely enjoyable read—it is a long novel that will keep you occupied for days, but those days will be pure reading bliss.

Let me suffice it to say that for fans and non-fans of the genre, this book will delight and will not disappoint. I highly recommend this to those who are looking for something worthwhile reading for the weekend, or just anyone who loves reading a well-crafted suspenseful tale. A well-deserved five-star rating for this one.
