4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy and reliable
I have this clamped to my desk holing a Blue Snowball (needs an 3/8" to 5/8" adapter for US sockets) with absolutely no issues.
It does a nice 180 degree arc of rotation, stays where its left. Theres no creeping of the arm over time.
The nuts needed a little tightening when I mounted the snowball to it though.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not suitable for use
In the product description states that a 2kg max support weight. Frankly, it isn't even half of that.
I use a RODE Podcaster with the RODE shock mount - total weight 1.06kgs and even with maximum tightening of the stand, it cannot even come close to holding the weight.

Construction is weak, cheap materials. Product returned as not fit for purpose.

This is OK, but I've found I need to really swing on the nuts to tighten it up to the point that the mic won't start drooping down.

Admittedly, I'm using a Blue Yeti, which is quite heavy, but not overly.

I'd still recommend it.

Honestly! I have never wrote a review on anything like this before, but i feel this product needs it! It's very cheap in comparison to most of the boom arms i've seen, BUT! it literally is as good if not better than the expensive ones, i use a blue yeti mic and it works fine! not with the shock absorber thing but that's due to the fact the actual design of the shock absorber is too big! definitely would recommend this to anyone starting out on Twitch or Youtube or anything like that!

Using the small black screw in the mic from the plastic mic holder. Works well. The end is a bit floppy.

Does what it should but the actual metal could be thicker or stronger. The mic holder does it's job but it's made out of cheap plastic so... Couldn't ask for something better for the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job, 29 Aug 2014

The stand is just what I expected, a little on the small side but it works well enough after figuring out where on my desk exactly I had to clamp it for it to work as intended. It's a bit tricky to get the base sorted out because the screw only goes in a specific small hole in the metal at the base of the stand and is quite tricky to assemble.
The arm itself is quite rigid and stays in place when I need it to.
Only real problem as I said is the base being tricky to assemble properly.

I brought this stand for a blue yeti, it is perfect! The only issue I have with it is that I feel like it needs to be longer.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unfit for purpose if you're using anything other than super light microphones, 15 Aug 2014

Unfit for purpose if you're using anything other than super light microphones. I'm using an akg s3000, not a super heavy mic, but as others have said it cannot be tightened to the extent where it does not lower over time to the point where the mic falls off.

Unimpressed and had for too long before unboxing so cannot return. So, yeah, basically unfit for purpose due to the massive design fail of the screw array that holds the actual mic holder.
