5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best
This is one of the best Sparks albums to myself but i do not think they liked it much because of the production. After there massive No 1 in France with When im with you came Young Girls which was another hit and if anyone can tell me what number this record got to i would love to know as i have never been able to find out.As for the other tracks they are all great to my...

3.0 out of 5 stars Rock 'n' roll people in a disco world
The follow-up to the sublime No. 1 In Heaven - Terminal Jive, feels a bit rushed, and it probably was. The huge hit single (in France) When I'm With You is gorgeous and Young Girls - a Ron Mael dirty old man song in the tradition of Happy Hunting Ground is even better with Russell Mael's falsetto making the coda absolutely heavenly. However, beyond those two songs and the...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Show, 8 Dec. 2014

This review is from: Terminal Jive (Audio CD)
Their second best album after No 1 In Heaven, this contains the sublime electro pop brilliance of Rock and Roll People In A Disco World, Stereo and The Greatest Show On Earth.

Some of their later albums had bigger hits and catchier songs but for me personally No 1 In Heaven and this album are the two greatest albums they released.

A definite five star must buy if you're into New Wave/Electro Pop Music, very, very highly recommended. Superb.

3.0 out of 5 stars is in this day and age pretty uncomfortable listening, 15 July 2014

This review is from: Terminal Jive (Remastered Bonus Track Version) (MP3 Download)
Bought this as it was the second collaboration Sparks had with Giorgio Moroder, so I was expecting similar feel to No.1 in Heaven. The standout track is 'when I'm with you', which grabs you right away. Of other 7 original tracks, one is an instrumental of 'when I'm with you', so bit of a cheek that. The other tracks seem OK, with the exception of 'young girls', which even if produced with an ironic intent, is in this day and age pretty uncomfortable listening, and I'm sure would be quite offensive to some. Personally, I deleted it and hoped that the Maels' consciences were clear.
