Good production and good acting , however a weak story and music. I would walk 500 miles to avoid watching this.

When I went to see this at the cinema I was a bit unsure as the film seemed to be hyped - and that normally means trouble. In this case all the hype wasn't wrong - this is a truly great feelgood movie. The Proclaimers music fits brilliantly into the story - there was no need for a shoehorn here to come up with some unbelievably contrived story.

I got the DVD as soon as it came out and I have watched it a number of times since. There aren't many extras on the DVD - just a handful of deleted scenes but the last one, the alternate ending makes the DVD worth it just for that. I thought the final scene in the film was great - one of those times when you just smile and join in with the singing. The alternate ending uses the same song but stages it completely differently and has more of a comic element.

Its sheer brilliance and I would recommend it to everyone.

The trailer was good but I found the dialogue hard to follow and got bored. The rest of the family enjoyed it.

A lot of people love this musical soap opera, but I'm not one of them. It looks good, all the cast are good, and the songs for the most part break out of the narrative smoothly, but then there's the music itself. It all sounds the same, it's syrupy, mediocre, and often feels imposed on the plot instead of being a genuine part of it. But if you love The Proclaimers, you'll probably overlook that. And despite some comments here, the dialogue, even for someone brought up surrounded by the Scots and the Irish - is extremely difficult to understand.

Not quite the Caledonian 'Mamma Mia' that I had expected. A little bit too corny but still love the music.

Who would have known that a musical could endear Edinburgh to any Scot not from the Lothians. A reminder that Edinburgh is more than just high brow culture and that weird southern accent. By the end I was singing and almost dancing along in a restrained presbeterian kind of way. Not actually enjoying myself of course. And who were those lanky twins coming out of the pub, they looked a bit familiar.

Super film. I don't like romantic movies and I don't like musicals... from Scotland? How wrong I was. This is a brilliant film with a tight script, great character interplay and super music (already tried and tested from the Proclaimers) Watch it! The final scene is not to be missed when what seems 1/2 of Edinburgh come out for a flashmob finale! Brilliant- Scotland we salute you! Better Together!
