4.0 out of 5 stars Sarah Millican
A fascinating and very interesting life of someone who worked hard to get to the top of her profession.I found it hard to put down.

3.0 out of 5 stars Poorly written, 27 Aug 2013

This book was an OK holiday read, although very poorly written. There are quite a few quotes, anecdotes and bits of information repeated throughout the book, and several typos. Does no-one proof-read any more? It gave me the impression that the book had been hurriedly cobbled together and rushed to print whilst Sarah Millican is very popular. There are also several sections that don't refer to the woman herself at all, and describe the ins and outs of the comedy industry. If you have read other boigraphies/autobiographies of comedians, then these sections will be boring and patronising.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was full of cliches, 25 Sep 2013
It was full of cliches, I wasn't thrilled with it. The writer kept going over the same ground. Five out of ten.

1.0 out of 5 stars plagerism by the bucketful, 18 Aug 2014
By
Firstly, for those who think Sarah wrote this, she didn't. Secondly, for the reviewer who complained it was ghost written. It wasn't. As advertised, it was written by Tina Campanella. For a journalist her sentence construction is dreadful. The book doesn't appear to have undegone any proof reading and most of the content is from interviews or quite blatantly got from the web. Like a lot of her generation's literati she doesn't bother to check facts. She really believes panel games/shows weren't invented until the 90's. She patronises Sarah's working class roots in idioms that belong in a first year sociology class and I would suggest that anyone who already knows and loves Sarah to give this badly written, unauthorised tripe a miss.

Go get it, this is a great story of Sarah as she goes through life from where her husband left to where she stands now. It is so funny and so sad but a wonderful read and one not to be missed.

Very interesting and funny. Would recommend it too everyone. It shows the hard work it takes to "make it" in the comedy world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brings you right up to date, 18 Oct 2013

Must admit to looking forward to reading this book. A little disappointed though as it also had a lot of stories about other comedians at times almost whole chapters. If your going to write about someone surely you should stick to that person. Yes mention others but to much about other comedians careers. Best to make up your own mind if you want to read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars book full of humour, 4 Oct 2013
.This was an enjoyable and easy read. It was good to find out about how she climbed the ladder from the start of her career to the present time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring list of tv appearances, 26 Sep 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I really like Sarah Millican's humour but if she has sanctioned this book, she's maybe a bit of a money grabber rather than the warm woman I've previously thought her to be. The book give endless lists of shows where Sarah made a guest appearance and who appeared alongside her, usually ending in "Sarah held her own/stole the show". The book is also padded out by extensive quotations from reviews. Endlessly repeating what was said in a newspaper does not make a biography. It does make a very easy way for a journalist sitting in front of a computer screen to cut and paste to fill a book. Sarah, if you have any conscience, distance yourself from this lazy piece. Only for fans who feel they must collect everything.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dull,repetitive in the second person..cant recommend..sorry,despite loving her acts., 3 Oct 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Disappointing ,written very badly in the third person was quite irritating ,I love Sarah in stand up but found this book poorly written, repetitive and the further I delved became more boring, I love autobiographies, but sadly this one sits alongside Tom Cruises as one of the most boring I have read and I would, could not recommend it.
