I received this book free to read and review.
This is a series that I am thoroughly enjoying but it does really need reading in the order published as it is difficult to jump in half way and have any real understanding of what is going on. For the last of the series we are back in space for the final conflict. This is much more the science fiction aspects than some of the previous books and brings everything together nicely with Earth united in making the resources available to try and defeat the coming Meme destroyer. There is still time spent on further character development and more time is spent with the aliens which I found fascination particularly the interplay between one, two and three very non-human but human at the same time. At the end there is a long and detailed space battle with the outcome in doubt and the ending came a bit as a surprise.
Although this is the end of the series I don't think this is going to be the end of either the Meme or the characters left in this book and I hope it is not. I would like to read much more about all of it.
An exciting end to an imaginative series.

Get ready for some sleepless nights with this one - "Comes the Destroyer" is positioned as the final book in the Plague Wars series and takes the reader through 10 years of Earth's preparations for the arrival of the Meme species' "Destroyer" - a spacecraft that can wipe out an entire planet. All the usual suspects are present and correct, and we get to see how Earth's inhabitants must learn to work together to earn their survival.

The book is space opera at its finest - fully-formed characters and thrilling action scenes help further establish VanDyke's position as a first-rate sci-fi novelist. A rich and vibrant universe populated with exciting characters, some truly tear-jerking moments and first-rate suspense help make this a truly fitting end to a fanstastic series - and despite the 500+ pages, the story never slows.

highly recommended!

Fantastic book. I really enjoyed reading the Stellar Conquest and look forward to the next story. David has created a very rich and complex universe with strong themes and highly plausible technologies. Recommended to any Sci-Fi fan.

Same as the rest in the series. It conjures your imagination and is completely different to the usual sci fi. You need to read all the previous books beforehand.
