Perfect for a mum with a new born or toddler. Lots of recipes for all ages from purees to snacks, main meals, fruit kebabs, bakes, soups. The handy tips at the bottom of each page are great for recipes you feel your child might have outgrown, they give you options to use the purees as soups, toppings, or contents of other older child recipes so nothing wasted and all appropriate. I am so pleased I bought this book, my daughter is 18 months old. Its a different spin to the traditional child recipe books.

I want to really love this book, the idea behind it is brilliant and I really want my daughter to be an adventurous eater. It's a beautiful book and very well presented. There's mostly 1 recipe per page with a picture. It usefully tells you how long something can be kept in fridge or freezer, how many portions and how long it takes to prepare and cook etc. The recipes look tasty and all seem fairly easy with great ideas such as a simple pea purée with mint, Italian beef ragot, sea bass with fennel and green grapes, to finger food, paella, soba noodle stir fry and mild curry for older babies, yumm! I also like that there are suggestions how you can modify the dishes for the rest of the family so you're not cooking one thing for baby and one for you, a great idea as currently I seem to be cooking 2 meals every night! It all looks and seems great and the couple of things I've made have been tasty and have gone down well with my daughter. Despite this I'm still not using it much and I don't know why. Maybe because some the ingredients are less used in the uk, such as veal, but there's nothing so unusual really. Maybe because the second stage weaning (stage I'm currently at) suggests cooking a main and side so would mean even more cooking, I don't know. I always seem to fall back on my trusty Annabel Karmel recipes despite not liking the look of her book as much as this one. Who knows maybe I'll use it more as she gets older.

Absolutely love this book and so does my 11 month old. The recipes are great and easy to prepare and I feel they are really developing her tastebuds. Her favourite is the baby boeuf bourginon with creamy parmesan polenta...packed full of flavour! A great gift for new parents or a fab alternative/addition to some of the mainstream weaning books out there.

I bought this book for my daughter to give her some ideas for feeding her baby son when he starts on solids. I thought the recipes looked very good and particularly liked the ones for mum, dad and baby. It would make a lovely gift to give to someone with a young baby rather than the usual baby clothes.
