I already have a five year old Maqc which still functions perfectly. At work I have Windows 7 PRO. This slim piece of equipment is a joy to use. With Pages who needs Word? The Screen is wonderful. The best thing about Macs is the lack of constant invasion by ad-ware and frequent restarts every time there is an update. This is like one of those modern cars which rarely needs servicing, compared with an old one that is always in the garage.
Well worth the money.

This is the machine I own. I spent a lot of time deliberating wether to buy it or not, eventually I did and I must say I have not regretted it, it's a dream! From the perfect screen size to the sound from built in speakers everything about this machine oozes quality, including the build and software. It is so easy to use, though I must admit it took a while for me to get used the the new operating system (my first mac, bar an iPhone).

After a couple of years now the machine has slowed down a bit, though the hard drive is over 3/4 full and I could do with cleaning up my files a bit, which does improve that. It has never given me a days trouble, there are no error messages, unlike my last dell PC which was a nightmare...

I've been somewhat anti-Apple in the past, thinking of them as some anonymous, evil corporate giant trying to control my life (I know, I know, I've started taking the pills again). However, I loved the iPad when I got it and recently I started to admire the cool look of the iMac. Having had a good commission this quarter, I decided to buy one of these, plus a number of peripherals (and an iPad Air). I was slightly apprehensive as (like another reviewer mentioned), I'd been led to believe that the transition from my Windows 7 PC would be traumatic and I'd regret it. Well, that's just nonsense. Yes, it's really quite different, but it's remarkably intuitive and when you can't seem to see how to do something, you just Google it. What impresses me most about this machine and peripherals such as the Airport Extreme I also acquired, is how it all works together so well. I haven't had a single "Missing Driver" or incompatibility type issue. Just connect it all up and it takes the grunt work out of the technical stuff. I'm so impressed by it that I can hardly stay off the damned thing, trying to learn how to become a pro user and looking into some of the more technical side of it (most of which is hidden away by default).
One thing I'm very happy about is getting rid of all the (separately powered) peripherals I had attached to my PC. I've rid myself of countless cables and at least two additional mains gang sockets. It just looks so cool. The 802.11ac wireless connection to my Airport Extreme is rock solid and fast. The small white keyboard it came with looks like it's going to be very tricky to use but in reality, I think it's one of the best keyboards I've ever used. The mouse is also a clever bit of engineering and design and I particularly like the fact that the smooth, button-less upper surface acts as a touch-sensitive area and you can swipe application screens across.
Performance is impressive when doing things like copying files, even across the WiFi connection and watching HD films is truly awesome as the picture quality is superb and the delivery completely seamless. I have a Thunderbolt disk attached and performance of this is much, much faster than the USB 2 disk I had attached to my PC.
One other thing I've noticed is how quiet everything is. The Thunderbolt HDD, Smardrive and the iMac itself are all virtually silent. compared with the constantly whirring fan and noisy disks of my PC, it's completely silent. Sitting here now the only noise I can hear is the disk in my Lenovo Windows 7 laptop whirring and clicking (maybe it's time my company replaced this actually as it doesn't sound healthy!).

I just love this machine. I'm completely converted and have sold my soul to Apple.

Supplier responded and delivered quickly.

My first Imac 24" has lasted six years and still going strong (went through 2 quality branded desktops and one portable pc in the same time - never again.) I also have an Ipad - excellent.

Second Imac 27" more power for photography hobby - expect it to last six years and more again. Just wished I could afford powerbook as well.

I got exactly what I was expecting - a 27 inch iMac and saved £200 in the process. However despite the machine being unmarked it had obviously been unboxed and used at some point before being repackaged, but things like the power cord being an untidy mess and not in the cable tie etc show its not ex-factory. Whether its been sold and returned or ex-demo who knows? However it works perfectly so I can't fault it.

Delighted! What a pleasure to use after Windows 8 computer which nearly drive me insane. No annoying adverts no taking all day to up date. Wish I had purchased this before the Windows computer
