5.0 out of 5 stars Better than a history lesson! Great debut novel!
I bought this book last week and read it in three sessions. This is not my normal genre and I am so pleased I decided to think outside the box with my reading. The story about World War Two made me think pretty deeply and the storyline kept me wanting more.

I will not go into much detail here as I do feel that this book deserves to be read and I look forward to...

2.0 out of 5 stars not very good
Far to much detail as to how the characters were trained etc.I got so bored that I had to keep flicking through pages to find something interesting

I loved this little book and wished it had been twice as long, a cracking story with a fast pace, historically it was accurate. all in all a really good book and worth reading.

3.0 out of 5 stars Janet + John or 'allo 'allo?, 4 May 2014

An entertaining read but not French Resistance. The story is too 'cosy'. There is no hardship, no adrenaline rush, no tension. It is too far-fetched. C.D.G. would not have paid such minute attention to a group like this. When the war was over he barely acknowledge them (according to some reports). The danger is sadly lacking. It is more 'allo 'allo than Maquis. Passes the time though.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hard Work !, 27 Jun 2014

I found the story very mundane, there were no really exciting bits, and it was all too easy to put the book down. I think this was due to the fact that, although the title gave the impression of three main characters, in fact there were about eight or nine, none of which one could have any particular empathy with.

Did not like the literary style. Read a bit like an Enid Blyton Famous Five romp. All a bit too jolly hockey sticks and " are there buns for tea" . However good story in principal and author showed good knowledge of France.

Exciting but improbable tale with unnecessary explicit sexual content. Wartime A.Team! A disappointment because of too many impossible co-incidental happenings
