I did not enjoy this book much at all. There was little content on tactics and technique of carp fishing, but plenty on eating Indian food and drinking alcohol. There was too much emphasis on the characters of Conningbrook and little about the actual fishing. Without doubt Conningbrook was a very difficult water to fish and catch from maybe this explains why the balance...

There was too much emphasis on the characters of Conningbrook and little about the actual fishing. Without doubt Conningbrook was a very difficult water to fish and catch from maybe this explains why the balance between catching fish and socials is a bit too much on the social side. If you were one of the named anglers in the book no doubt you would enjoy reminiscing about it but to the rest of us it's all a bit boring. If Mr Jackson makes some money out of his capture of the record carp by selling this book then fair play to him, but if there is ever a follow up book I wont be buying it.
