5.0 out of 5 stars Try it out, even if you usually don't like "First Person Shooters"
Love it. It's my best "couch co-op game" (split screen), but online co-op is also a lot of fun. And that's the best word to describe "Borderland 2". It's FUN, LOUD, and require EXCESSIVE use of CAPITAL LETTERS (just like one of the gun manufacturers in the game).
I don't like that much of FPS, but this game (a RPS, as "Role Playing Shooter")...

1.0 out of 5 stars No way as good as 1
Think I would have to agree with what "Freedom Of Speech" is saying Borderlands 2 is a real let down and the guns are rubbish and all the shields are a waste of time - if you have 10 to spend buy Borderlands 1 game of the year if you don't already have it or hold off until 2 gets cheaper and your still have to put your hand in your pocket if you want to get to...

Love it. It's my best "couch co-op game" (split screen), but online co-op is also a lot of fun. And that's the best word to describe "Borderland 2". It's FUN, LOUD, and require EXCESSIVE use of CAPITAL LETTERS (just like one of the gun manufacturers in the game).
I don't like that much of FPS, but this game (a RPS, as "Role Playing Shooter") feels different.
Of course, it has it's flaws, like loading screens every now and then, pop in textures (only at the start of each area), but who cares when you're having so much FUN???

The GOTY Edition gives you a lot of the expansions (not all, though), and two additional classes of characters (six, total). You'll need plenty of time to complete quests, gather loot, sell and trade items, complete challenges, earn ranks, bonus, skills, and become the Ultimate BADASS Vault Hunter (or the "best minion ever"... it's your choice).

It's highly addictive so... KEEP OUT, you've been WARNED.

(PS - The latest update gives you the option to turn on "colorblind mode", which is a very interesting feature, helps to identify the level of rarity of the loot you can gather with more than just its colours)

4.0 out of 5 stars All the original goodness but with more, 3 Nov 2013
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition (PS3) (Video Game)
Borderlands 2 was always going to be bigger. Given the success of the Sleeper hit original. And, unsurprisingly here is the GOTY version and to say it's worth getting is to underplay the value and potential hours of fun to be had her.
We go back to Pandora with 5 new characters (originally four but this set includes the necromancer which we'll go into later)again looking for 2the vault". This time around though the planet has been taken over by a sociapath called Handsome Jack, who is the head of Hyperion, the fictitious weapon maker of the original. And the vault, well the 4 old playable characters are now allied together as NPC comrades who eventually talk you into fighting for peace and the defeat of Jack
Again whilst the campaign is solid as a single player it is really designed for co-op and this has been massively improved on. Not that co-op on the original was bad but here it is more smooth and satisfying. There is also a more varied environment with toxic caves and frozen zones to really show off the cartoonish visuals BL fans love.
But the real deal maker is the DLC though
The first is Captain Scarlet, a pirate inspired quest but with more of a return of the Jedi twist with sand skiff al la jabba the Hutt and a hilarious reference to Hunter L Thompson fear and loathing in LA style
Mister Torgue's.. is slightly similar to Moxxis Underdome except not rubbish. This also has proper missions and all give XP. No more fighting for nearly an hour with only a trophy on the XMB to show for it
The best DLC though is Tiny Tina's, a dungeons and dragons style caper. It also is the most hilarious
The Hunters DLC is not quite as good as the rest but overall there is a good variety here and on the whole slightly better than Borderlands original 4 (though we are including the aforementioned Underdome.
If you haven't played Borderlands 2 yet this is a great excuse to go out and buy this great value set.

4.0 out of 5 stars A better Borderlands., 14 Mar 2014

Played this few hours. It feels like a greatly improved Borderlands.
More classes (free with GotY), more quests, more characters, infinite weapons, huge maps.
Online is very fun and addictive, but there are not so many people playing it on PS3.
Clap-Trap is a damn annoying character, but after 20+ hours of his voice deep into your brain, you'll start liking that stupid bot.

Great game. You'll never stop looting. 4/5

Brilliant game. Love borderlands. One of the best games on the PS3. Better if played with mates, much more fun but even still an awesome game when played on your own.

One of the best games I've ever played. If you like fps shooters and loot based games like diablo and torchlight then this is your dream come through. This also is the only game I think ever that has made me constantly laugh the whole way through. It's a combination of hilarious and disturbing. Also this GOTY edition is excellent value and has hundreds of hours of potential gameplay. I can't recommend it more. Go buy it!

Amazing Value for hours and hours of entertainment.
