4.0 out of 5 stars Quid Pro Quo
As a long-time Quo fan, I really like this album but this comes as no surprise to me. To me, Quid Pro Quo sounds like the culmination of Status Quo rediscovering their soul (their `Quoness' if you like) that started with Under the Influence in 1999, continued with Heavy Traffic in 2002 and was consolidated on The Party Ain't Over Yet (2005) and In Search of the Forth...

3.0 out of 5 stars Better but not a classic
I would give this 3.5 stars if i could. I have been a Quo fan since the mid 70`s and in truth i am suprised to read some of the reviews saying some tracks would not be out of place on Hello, Quo etc...must have been listening with Quo tinted headphones. having said this, the Album is the best effort they have done in years but not to the standards of the 70`s early 80`s...

5.0 out of 5 stars Why so expensive?, 15 Sep 2011

Following on from poor efforts in the 80s and 90s Quo are starting to produce some good albums again. This one continues on from In Search of the Fourth Chord with a move back towards blues and sounds remarkably full of drive and energy as it is their 29th studio album. Some of this seems to be due to the greater influence of Rhino Edwards who collaborates on many of the better tracks as well as more use of Rick Parfitt on vocals. It starts off with a bang with the driving "Two Way Traffic" and the brilliant "Dust to Gold", and contains other great tracks such as "Frozen Hero" and "Reality Cheque". It ends however with a strange re-writing of In The Army Now that turns a song about the futility of war into one that could be used for recruitment although as a charity record for a great cause (Help the Hero's) I can forgive this. All in all sounds surprisingly fresh and contemporary and is well worth tracking down but play it loud to really appreciate it! One thing I cannot understand is why this album is so expensive with no MP3 option on Amazon. Quo sort out your distribution as it would be a shame to limit your market for this album.
