5.0 out of 5 stars Funny Yet Chilling, 28 Sep 2013
This review is from: Freddy's House (horror anthology) (Kindle Edition)
"Freddy's House" is a collection of horror stories that are as funny and amusing as they are chilling and disturbing. The author works wonders at bridging the gap between scary and humorous by tapping into our fears, our desires and our everyday lives to create a group of horror stories that craft an all too real and terrifying glimpse into the creepy and disturbing side of life. The haunting words, the descriptive imagery and the weaving of real with imaginary allows the reader to get swept up in the creepy, crawly bits of each story and truly terrify themselves. You'll laugh and then you'll scream bloody murder, but you'll be having a great time while doing so. Mr. Jester outdid himself in writing a funny yet chilling horror anthology that is well worth the read.

I love scary stories, especially when Halloween is right around the corner!

This morbid collection of stories had me gripped from the first page! It probably didn't help that I read most of the book at night, alone in my room....in the dark. Did I mention I am a blond and don't always make the best decisions?

I think anyone who is a fan of this genre would absolutely love this book. Even if you just want to get in the Halloween spirit (any time of year!) this book will definitely do the trick!
Although all the stories were good, if I had to pick a favorite it would be Premeditated.

This creepy, spellbinding horror story collection was a great book to get lost in on a rainy afternoon. The way the author weaved the stories was perfect, capturing the chilling and intensity of the characters and events, while blending in oddly thoughtful take on the fears and desires that encompass the human psyche. Each story had it's own feel to it, allowing the stories to feel separate and unique, but keeping the overall tone of the book all aligned together. The writing is fresh, creative, terrifying and provocative.

David Jester managed to crafted a absolutely creepy collection of horror stories that exemplify the genre and offered the right amount of spine-tingling scariness that I was looking for. I'm actually really eager to see what else he has written because this collection was a really great read.
