As with most compilations of this type, there always will be many favourite
artists and or favourite songs missing, however this 3-CD set is to my mind
a fair reflection of the music-style of the 80's era.
I will just list one or two numbers from each disc that persuaded me to purchase
the item, ....on disc one...'Visage' --'Fade to Grey'...'Ultravox' --'Hymn'...
'Cyndi Lauper' --'Girls just wanna have Fun'...'Tears for Fear's' --'Mad World'
...'The Style Council' --'The ever changing Moods'...'Fun Boy Three & Bananarama'
--'It ain't what you do it's the way that you do It'... and 'Orchestral Monoeuvres
in the Dark' --'Souvenir' .....just a few tracks that caught my eye....on disc
Two....'Blondie' --'Atomic'...'Culture Club' --'Do you really want to Hurt Me'
...'Billy Idol' --'White Wedding'...'Wham' --'Young Guns' (go for it)...'Bow Wow
Wow' --'Go Wild in the Country'... and 'Frankie goes to Hollywood' ...again just
one or two of the many good sounds on disc two....on the third disc...'Philip
Oakey' and 'Giorgio Moroder' --'Together in Electric Dreams'...'Bronski Beat'
--'Smalltown Boy' ('Jimmy Somerville' also had hits with the 'Communards' and
as a solo artist)...''Nik Kershaw' --'Wouldn't it be Good'...'Yazoo' --'Nobody's
Diary'...'Kim Wilde' --'Kids in America' ('Kim Wilde' daughter of late 50's/early
60's Rock-legend 'Marty Wilde' had a world-wide hit with this her first single,
reaching number '2' in the 'UK' and '29' in the 'US' top 100, along with hitting
the charts in many other country's)...'Big Country' --'In a big Country'...and
one of my all time favourite numbers...'The Cars' --'Drive'
just one or two of the numbers that drew me in, sadly as an earlier reviewer
pointed out there are several tracks on board that to hear them as you would
wish too, you do have to turn up the volume some....which of course shouldn't
be the case.
Overall, a good selection of sounds that reflect the music of the era.

Brings back so many good memories , i like the way these cd's don't have the usual tracks by these artists the tracks are not the first choice as on so many cds of this kind which makes this more interesting.

GREAT in the car!

TRIPLE CD SET - 60 tracks, and, for me - not a bad one in sight.
Cardboard-wrapped.
No booklet - the contents of each disc are underneath (please see images).

Some snatches of the big hitters (from the MP3 version):

* Visage's Fade To Grey
* Cyndi's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
* Soft Cell's Bedsitter (Album Version)
* Queen/Bowie's Under Pressure (2011 Remaster)
* Spandau's To Cut A Long Story Short
* OMD's Souvenir (2003 Digital Remaster)

and (perhaps) some lesser known but equally impressionable:

It Ain't What You Do It's The Way That You Do It from FBT & Bananarama
What Is Love? from Howard Jones

and.....one of my old favourites.....yes, another one!

Now who sang those ultra-catchy tracks like 'Dance Hall Days', 'Poison Arrow', 'Da Da Da (I Don't Love You You Don't Love Me - Aha Aha Aha)', 'Together In Electric Dreams', 'Go Wild in the Country', 'Pulling Mussels (From The Shell)' & 'Happy Birthday' (because I have reached the max number of links I can put in one review!

Of course others on this great compilation include:

Duran, Ultravox, Blondie, Culture Club, Wham, Simple Minds, Madness, Yazoo, The Stranglers, Frankie, The Cars, Japan, The Jam, The Pretenders, The Stranglers, A Flock of Seagulls.........the list is simply ENDLESS........

A great collection covering electro-pop, new-romantics, classic pop and drifting towards punk & ska influenced pop. Very hard to pick individual singles from some of the artists included. Some interesting choices made which mean that we don't get the obvious "classics" from artists; eg. Love Action by The Human League and Hymn from Ultravox. This also helps reduce duplication with other collections.
Overall, a good reminder of the early 80's, but shouldn't be the only one.

The album features a good choice of classic 80s songs from 1980 to 1984.The legendary 80s artists and bands are featured in the album. I love listening to the album. The music is uplifting, feel good and tuneful. The album consist of 60 songs. It relieves childhood memories for me. Here is a flavour of what to expect Thompson Twins, Frankies Goes to Hollywood, Tear for Fears, ABC, Tears for Fears, Ultravox, Simple Minds, Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Howard Jones, Nik Kershaw, Alison Moyet and heaps more. Great to listen in the car. If you are an 80s music fan, then I would recommend the album. It is a great way of relieving nostalgis from a much talked decade about its music.

A great compilation, without many of those time-filling tracks that inevitably appear on most compilations - you know the kind, the ones you normally skip. Ahhhh...the 80s....was there ever a finer decade?!

Love this compilation, really nostalgic collection, 1980-1984, not great for hairstyles but the music was good, am in my mid 40s now but listening to some of the tracks on this album I am taken right back to being a teenager, mostly cringe-like face-reddening recollections but some good ones thrown in too

It must be hard deciding which songs to include and which not to. Overall there is a good mix of hits from the 80s and I have this cd saved in my car. Well worth buying and some real classic 80s tracks on it to while away a journey.

Average collection of 80's songs.

I don't usually buy compilations but must have been in a nostalgic mood when the advert was on TV!

At least they should re-master the tracks as each track has its own volume level.

Perhaps they were trying to recreate the 80's when we used to record on our tape cassettes without any auto volume leveling!

VERY annoying I found listening to this.
