Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
Have got a couple of other simple lights (though not aimed at kids), and this is along similar lines - plastic container, with a small LED light inside.

Light itself is nice, warm, candle light like glow, and nice Mickey illustration on the outside.

However, it has a pretty cheap feel for the price, and commits the cardinal sin of having it's own proprietary charger - thankfully these days everything of this ilk is heading to mini or micro USB charging, so having something like this using it's own charging plug is ridiculous, in my opinion.

This is a night-light about the size of a plastic coffee-cup, with a Philip's flickering candlelight bulb inside. It is one of a range of these lamps from Philip's. I've reviewed a few of these in the past couple of years. All of the lamps have worked very well.

The lamp is rechargeable, charged by plugging-in a USB power cord. The mains end of the lead is not included, so you'll need to plug it into a USB mains plug or a USB port on a computer. When this range was originally launched, the lamps were charged on a very handy induction charging base, which was wireless. Philip's has since ditched that wonderful idea, and replaced it with old-fashioned charging leads and sockets. Too bad. The early models were also waterproof, which meant they were perfect in the bathroom or outdoors, but these newer ones make no mention of that. Too bad again.

As with all lamps in this range, it is switched on and off by tipping in to one side. This makes it easy to use. The lamp is a bit plasticky but is safe for children to use (and drop), and for pets to knock over.

I've got quite a few of these Philip's candlelight lamps. They are really great items, give a pleasant flickering light, and last a very long time.

Disney I love, Philips I love and put them together and you have the perfect present for a boy aged 5 to 10 years old.

This is basically the same as the normal Philips candle lights apart from it charges through USB as opposed to inductively.

The light is bright, lasts around 8 hours and make a perfect night light for a boys bedroom.

Good price, great quality and really can't recommend it enough, Great stuff !!

My son loves everything to do with Mickey mouse so this night light was an instant hit. The lamp is small and gives off just enough light to reassure my son and help him off to sleep without feeling scared. Plugs in to the wall to charge, turn to switch on and off mechanism. A lovely product.

This Disney Philips candlelight is similar to another set I have by Philips, the difference being the Mickey picture on the light.

The size of a small cup, it charges by plugging into a USB port (with the supplied USB lead). There was no power / plug in charger with this product.

When charged, tilting the candlelight to the side turns it on. It emits a flickering glow, and is safer than a combination of children, pets and naked flames, making it a safe night light for children or Disney obsessed adults such as myself!

I'd be lying if I said that I thought there was any need for the Disney branding on this nightlight - Mickey Mouse adds absolutely nothing to the product. That said, it's easy to carry, easy to turn on (tip the light upside down to turn on, do it again to turn off), the charge lasts a long time, and the flickering pretend candlelight has a real charm to it.

Giving a gentle orange glow to the room, there's something soft and kind of comforting about the way that it "flickers". I quite often leave this light on at night if I'm expecting my children to wake up anytime soon, because it's dim enough not to bother anybody's sleep but bright enough to give some comfort as they find their way to our bedroom.

The only real drawback for me was the USB charger - who wants to turn their PC on just to charge a nightlight? However I did find that it will charge using the cable from our Philips 71705/33/26 Plastic LED Softpal Mike Disney Table Lamp, which is pretty handy.

We use this as a night light in our youngest sons bedroom, he likes the Micky Mouse character so this is perfect. We find it gives out just the right amount of light (does not flood the room although there is enough light to give him enough security to sleep). No real bad points although it is a lot smaller than it appears on the listing, it is approximately the size of a side drinks can.

Philips lighting products are often sophisticated and with a price to match. This, by comparison, is a simple, fun and not particularly expensive rechargeable nightlight with a flicker effect and a classic Disney branding. Given that anything (official!) with a Disney branding is going to put a significant premium on a product, the price isn't too bad but you'd be forgiven for thinking this was a cheap generic rip-off product if you were familiar with other items in the Philips LED lighting range. The quality of the plastic cup isn't particularly high.

Nevertheless, the light is pleasant, the tip-over switching has proven a hit with my 6 yearold and the illumination lasts a whole night taking about the same time to fully recharge so it could be used daily for the duration of the battery life. In fact, it makes a nice little bedside table night-light that a child can use themselves without having any mains wiring beside their bed. Mickey Mouse gets a warm welcome in her bedroom so it's basically a success but don't expect the usual Philips build quality.

This is another lovely beaker type light from the Philips Disney collection. The picture of Mickey stands out well against the paler background, with attractive clouts.I've got this on the mantlepiece, but it would look good anywhere that's not too brightly lit. I imagine it being a nice night light for a child's bedroom. You can charge it up on a PC/laptop, or with a USB mains charger - I used an old kindle charging plug. Charge it up for a couple of hours before using it the first time. You just tilt the cup to turn it off and on - there's no switch. The candle effect glow is very pleasant and relaxing to look at. I'm sure you'll enjoy having this around. Philips have other Disney characters available too, including Minni.
