Pretty good for the price - Got it working on Windows 10
on 28 October 2015
Pretty good for the price. I managed to get these working in Windows 10 with full 7.1 surround sound. I downloaded the only driver available on the Tecknet site but guess its the same one as on the Disk. Open device manager then expand Sound, video and game controllers. Right click on USB PnP Sound Device and click Update Driver Software. Select to browse computer for driver. Browse to the following location on the Tecknet cd or download and just follow the wizard to install
Reboot your PC when advised then right click on your speakers icon bottom right of screen and select Playback Devices. Now right click on the green ticked Speakers option and configure speakers. You should now have options for 5.1 & 7.1 surround. Just go through the wizard to setup 7.1 & Bingo it works.
Update - even though got it working above sound was like under water. I have however just managed to get the proper Xear 3D software working and sounds much better. Go to http://www.drivers-download.com/en/downloadlist.php?id=161 and download the Xear 3D Virtual 7.1 Channel Sound Software. Unzip this software, right click and select properties on the main setup.exe in route of folder & select compatibility tab. Select Windows 7 compatibility and Run as administrator. Now double click on the setup.exe and it should install and ask to reboot. After reboot you may need to make USB Pnp device back as the default device. You will find in your quick launch toolbar at bottom right USB PnP Sound device. All the settings and effects seem to work fine. Well happy as I contacted Tecknet and they said it wouldn't work with Windows 10 :)
