I bought an earlier release of the Organ Concertos on CD but discovered (when it was too late to change the set) a fault in the recording of the first movement of HWV 296 (A Major). So I downloaded this single track hoping that the fault would have been remedied in the re-marketed product. It was not. The movement is meant to open with a clean A major chord; instead we get a jarring dissonance. I cannot believe that this is what was played in the studio; more likely the sound engineers spliced two unrelated passages together in the editing. Message to musicians: 'Please listen to your recorded performances before they are released!'

The download contains the equivalent of 11 cds for less than £12.00. Excellent versions in first rate recordings for £1.00 an hour.
if you like Handel on original instruments you can't really go wrong, even if you have the better known pieces already.

These are probably the best recordings of Händel's orchestral music. This 11 CD collection is simply fantastic. Most of the music was previously released by Archiv separately, but this time all of it is collected in one collector's edition box. Feast for the ears for every classical music lover!

Magnificent :-) All the best recordings - they should have included Concerto a due Cori no.1 to make it totally complete - of all of Handel's wonderful pieces for just £11.99 to download!! Where else could you find all this on 9 CDs at such a ridiculous price? Buy this and you may not need to buy many other versions of these works ;-)

A delight from beginning to end. Not being really up on Handel, it was a delight to hear unfamiliar, as well as familiar, pieces. Beautifully played, very good sound.
