I came to the Denon DHT 100 T having assessed every other permutation conceivable ie home cinema, wired sub woofer and wireless. Soundbar with separate and integrated sub. Listened to many and all did not meet her indoor's needs mainly to do with wires and bulk or indeed too powerful. I finally arrived at the Denon and was very pleased with the excellent delivery time and the contents of the box! So was my wife. I managed to set it up with ease and placed the tv on it. After an initial warm up following a very easy set up, I found the sound and ease of use to be all that I had thought it would be. The delivery was very detailed and I found it very satisfying. I heard familiar films in an entirely different dimension hearing much that has hitherto been a fuzzy blur. Best of all my wife didn't even notice it was there-so big bonus!
A downside for me is the remote control which I didn't find responsive although the learning mode largely rendered it
redundant. I will finish by saying that the unit is superbly built and is very pleasing to the eye. The quality shines through.
But then it's a Denon! Nuff said!!!

this is the first time I have felt the need to write a review. this product is brill and was a lot better than I expected.
I needed to improve my TV sound, but didn't want the hassle of a surround sound system and im using my TV's original stand so a sound bar wouldn't do. I was all set to buy I similar product that started with a b and rhymed with hose! but listened to it and was very unimpressed. I waited patiently or over a month for this to be released and was glad I did:)
this was mega simple to set up, with just power and an optical lead to connect. now I went straight in with a bit of Rihanna I thought it was ok. over the next few hours the speakers loosened up and revealed the units full potential. a bit of advice when you get yours play it for a hour or so before you put it through it paces.
if you want to hear how good this thing is I suggest listening to Britney Work Bi##H and watching Avengers on Blue Ray.
now surround sound will always be better, but that's not where this product is placed. the separation between bass, mid and treble is brill. vocals are as clear as can be and the bass makes an appearance right when you would expect it. I especially like the fact there is no display to distract the eye, just a simple lighting sequence to show the effect you have selected and when your choice is made the lights go out and just leave a dim power light.
this is a perfect all round solution to enhance your TV's sound. I had said for years our TV's sound reproduction was fine I WAS WRONG!!! get one bought:)

I was looking to improve my TV sound without loads of wires and speakers, this really does the trick. The unit sits under the TV and actually improves the appearance. I just connected the optical lead (which was supplied) between the Denon and my TV and it worked straight away.
The sound is great, much improved bass. When we switched back to TV speakers only it sounded really tinny.
The unit serves as a hifi using the bluetooth connection to my iPod, the quality is absolutely acceptable and comparable with our Bose Sounddock in the other room.
I recommend this product, it's great quality and really easy to set up and use.

After reading all the reviews on the Sonos/Bose/Denon sound boxes I ended up going for this one. I rarely feel the need for to write reviews, but I thought it would be helpful to add to the already glowing reports for this device.
Ordered with free delivery and it was delivered within 2 days, so don't pay over the odds for premium delivery.
Well packed and brand new.
Very easy to setup, me and my son did this while the rest of the family had a post Xmas nap on the Sofa, took about 10 mins.
I thought my TV sound (SONY Bravia) was fine before I got this box - it isn't - this device has made so much difference to our film and musical experiences.
Blue tooth works really well for streaming music, haven't managed to get this bad boy up to full volume yet, but it's easily loud enough for the average Joe.
If you want something simple that does what it says on the tin, then buy one of these, you won't regret it.

Well the sound bar arrived and it worked fine for about 3 days. Then the volume buttons didn't work on the control. Played about with it and still didn't work. So I changed the battery to eliminate that. It got it working instantly so I thought it was just the battery. Well I was wrong! Not even 24 hours later it stopped working again. Very frustrating as the sound is awsome. So I got the instructions out and flicked thru them, thinking maybe I've hit a sleep button or something along those lines. Couldn't see anything that fits that, but did see how to factory reset it, so I did. That was 3 weeks ago and since it's been solid. No issues what so ever from the control or soundbar itself. So if your having the same issue, factory reset it and hopefully it will work as should. Would like to add I got my sound bar from AV DIRECT through amazon and they have been TERRIBLE! DON'T BUY from them! NO HELP WHAT SO EVER! AVOID!

I have lived with this product for a couple of weeks now and love it. I bought it to replace a basic Sharp soundbar which had served me well but could deliver overblown bass at times. Here the bottom end is much more controlled and listenable as is the midrange. Another thing I like is the simplicity of connection. By removing the old soundbar and an unused DVD recorder I removed nine (nine!) cables and replaced them with just two here being the optical connection and the power cable. So all that awful spaghetti of cables has gone. The base is designed to have a TV placed on top but I do not like the look of this especially with my Samsung TV that has a crow's feet stand so I always intended it to sit on a shelf in my stand and it looks just fine. I watch all tv channels and blue ray movies on the "movie" setting. On "movie wide" the dialogue becomes a little less distinct so I will stick with "movie" which still supplies plenty of pseudo surround effects and excitement. On my old set up I struggled to follow dialogue on USA programmes such as Modern Family. Now they are as clear as a bell. The "speech" setting should also help the hard of hearing as it noticeably centres and pushes forward dialogue but I prefer the "movie" setting. The remote learning worked like a dream first time so I can forget about using the Denon remote. Bluetooth connection was also simple. I do not intend to use this feature as a have a hi-fi in my room but did have a quick listen to a couple of tunes from my Google Nexus tablet and was quite impressed. Certainly very listenable and much better than a Bose music system I have heard so if using the Denon for music is one of your considerations buy with confidence. Any cons? Well a volume indicator would have been nice although the lights on the device briefly light up as you push volume on your remote so you do get used to it. Also the supplied optical cable is incredibly flimsy bell wire so I bought another one. You may not agree that cables make any difference but I would suggest spending at least a fiver on another cable to get better build quality. In summary a great buy and now it has been reduced by fifty pounds even better.

Massively improves your TV sound experience. I'm not an audio geek, but it sounds good to me - put it on normal movie mode and after a bit of use to run it in sounds great for pretty much anything. Best of all is the simplicity of the thing - perfect for getting past technophobe better halves. Firstly it looks very discreet and smart, not too big and well finished. Connect it to the TV with one cable, train it to recognise volume and mute controls from your TV remote (very simple and clearly explained), turn off your tv's speakers and then forget about it. Auto wake/power off works a charm. Dead easy to set up Bluetooth streaming too. For real world practicality for the average user it's ace and great value for money.

I recently purchase a £1300 Panasonic Viera TV and the first thing you notice is that the sound quality is basically awful (great picture though). I already had an Orbitsound sound bar but struggled with the inability to store settings and the excessive bass so I ditched that and bought the Denon on the basis of previous reviews. It was a very good decision. Incredibly easy to set up, easy to train existing remotes, looks great and inconspicuous and best of all sounds fantastic. There are several sound settings for dialogue, movies music etc and a day/night setting for when you want to watch TV without disturbing the whole house (it kind of tones down all the noise and focuses on dialogue). With all settings the dialogue is always clearly picked out and the sound is rich. I also previously had £2000 worth of Onkyo amp and Keff egg speakers and while they did sound great I struggled with dialogue whenever there was any action on the screen. The Denon manages this perfectly for £250!

The Bluetooth connection is seamless and makes for an excellent speaker for my iPhone and iPad in my front room. I also very much like the fact that it doesn't have any glowing blue lights to distract from the TV. It just has subtle white lights which only illuminate when you interact, i.e.increase volume, switch sound mode etc. Basically I can't recommend this enough, particularly if you have a smallish front room and don't want to fill it with cables and speakers.

I have a severe hearing problem and have to wear two hearing aids so this product was purchased to see if would help me and it does. With the night mode selected it evens out the sound by toning down the loud noises and at the same time it brings up the quiet speech so it works for me.I cannot comment on sound Quality because of my hearing aids but as for sound clarity it works for me
