5.0 out of 5 stars A F13 fan's wet dream, 7 May 2015
7 hours of pure Jason- if you're a fan you can't go wrong and this is a great accompanent to all the movies. Every movie is covered here all 12 films and the TV show. It is true that the book is more expansive and sometimes seeing people being interviewed is a bit repetitive. For the Friday the 13th hardcore fan this is essential to have, but you'll know most of the stories already and you'll get fun out of seeing your actors and actresses interviewed. There are still a few actors who done well who didn't turn up for the interviews and it does leave a gaping hole. But hey were talking 7 hours here, you can't complain. This was a huge undertalking and they done a good job- for F13 fans only.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything you always wanted to know about Friday the 13th, 15 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Inspired by the book of the same name, a must read for Friday the 13th fans, this is an exhaustive documentary detailing the memories of many of the key figures involved in the franchise.

As well as being an entertaining look at how a franchise becomes popular (even though I love the movies, I'm not quite sure why) it's really interesting to learn about low budget film making and the real passion it takes to get things to the screen.

What is probably central to the doc is the sense of effective marketing as crucial to the films' success. One interesting fact is that the marketing budget on the first film was double what the movie actually cost to make, a gamble that paid off in big way.

Set aside a couple of evenings to watch this. You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars No stone left unturned - compelling viewing!, 13 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I can't recommend this highly enough for any fan of the Friday the 13th franchise! Just like the companion book, this DVD delves into the series so deeply that hardly any stone is left unturned.
It's refreshing to see people being so candid - as with any movie franchise, not all experiences are positive, but they are still experiences, and it's interesting to see the cast and crew talking about them.
Even if you've read the book, and especially if you haven't, this really is a compelling watch if you like the Friday the 13th movies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Camp Crystal Lake in the hamlet of Crystal Lake aka Camp Blood. Later renamed Lake Forest Green (1986), 15 Jun. 2014

Friday the 13th (1980) one of, if not thee, finest slasher movies ever made gets a fitting tribute in this 3 disc DVD set. The first disc runs a staggering 2 hrs and 57 minutes. It's as exhaustive as they come. The second disc covering parts 6 to 10 is a less staggering 2 hrs and 14 minutes but still impressive. I have not yet had a chance to watch disc 3 but what I wanted to share was how heartbreaking it was to discover that so many of our beloved actors (and directors) have died. But in trying to be less down beat I thought that I'd share my thoughts on the film series... Then decided not to. I would highly recommend this DVD set to any Friday the 13th fan. That having been typed I did notice that some of what was said here has been already previously covered / released in either print or visual media. It's a small thing that does not affect the enjoyment of this wonderful documentary.
