Defective: Melted attached devices & possible fire risk but excellent customer service

My unit was defective and while, based on other reviews, I have no doubt that this can be an excellent hub I have to base my review on the unit I received.
I attached 3 devices to the hub. All were USB 2.0 and were attached to the blue USB outputs not the red charging ports. None of the devices worked, i.e. none showed as available on my PC. I tried reboots, etc, but to no avail. Then after a while I noticed a burning smell and found that the cases on two of the devices had melted. My Blu Ray drive and TV tuner both have melted cases and sufficient internal damage such that they no longer work.
I am doubly annoyed that not only was the hub defective but that it also damaged attached devices. It will be returned to Amazon and a different hub purchased.

The supplier's customer service has been excellent. They respond promptly to emails and not only gave me a refund but also supplied a free product as a goodwill gesture. You can't say fairer than that. Hopefully they will also be able to ensure my issue is an isolated incident that is not repeated.
