4.0 out of 5 stars Thirst Quencher, 10 Oct 2013
This review is from: Tally All The Things That You Broke (Audio CD)
Another great release from Parquet Courts, and a welcome thirst quencher for everyone
who got their head turned by the excellent "Light up gold". For most parts "Tally all
the things that you broke" follow the same blueprint as the debut, with the exception
of the cool, doped-out "He's seeing paths", a fantastic song that resembles Beck's earliest
hip-hop joints. Keep 'em coming, we'll knock 'em down!

For me, the first three tracks on here are all absolutely killer. Tracks four and five are much more experimental, and don't make it on to my playlist. But if you liked 'Light Up Gold' this is worth buying for the first track alone!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very very strong EP. Recommended!, 27 Feb 2014

These guys just don't conform and it pays off for them so well. Especially in the first and last tracks. It's a complete tangent off from typical punk rock because as scrappy as it might sound in parts, it's very clever and deeply integrated. These guys know what they're doing.
