The Quietus is one of the best music publications around, so I was delighted to hear they were releasing an eBook. I was not disappointed. This is some of the best music writing I've come across; I often found myself laughing out (Aidan Moffat's love letter to Nicola Roberts is a personal favourite).

The eBook itself has an elegant and simple layout. Of course special mention must go to the hilarious illustrations from Krent Able. Any book that features a drawing that re-imagines Kraftwerk as a country and western band gets a tick from me.

If you love great music writing, this is a must have.

Great website, great thinkers, great writing, great characters, great music... all available now with or without an Internet connection. Essential reading for anyone with an interest in modern music journalism.

This book is terrific: it tackles a wide range of musical genres, each with the same forensic analysis and beautifully lucid prose. An antidote to so much of the bland commentary out there. The Spacerock essay and the Dolly Parton interview are particular highlights.

Having read The Quietus for a good 4 years now, I'm am so pleased that they have created a book containing some of the best music writing out there in the last 5 years. Diverse, unapologetic, always erudite and entertaining to have it all in one publication is a wonderful thing.
Perfect for reading on the bus/tube/ train, anywhere really! Enrich your life a little more by reading this anthology, and at only £5.14, it's one hell of a bargain.

Music journalism that makes you think. You may not always agree but these essays are entertaining and thought provoking. Since the NME is essentially a comic nowadays The Quietus is a welcome voice.
