For your information (and sanity) these are the US editions of these classic albums...with the bizarrely truncated "Speed King" without the grimy Jon Lord introduction and absolutely no extras, even the singles ("Black Night", for instance) are missing. Given the extraordinary anniversary editions of these albums that is a crime. Given the similar recent box set for the band Yes (produced by the same record company, Rhino, for goodness sake) gives purchasers the entire remastered editions with all the extra tracks, this Deep Purple collection is both a missed opportunity and utterly useless. Don't bother purchasing. You'll be doing yourself a great favour.

2.0 out of 5 stars US versions?, 6 April 2014
This review is from: Complete Album 1970-1976 (Audio CD)
In case these are US versions not only "In Rock" is spoiled by truncated version of "Speed King", omitting approx. 2 minutes of organ introduction, but the album "Fireball" contains a substitution - as we all know "Demon's Eye" was replaced with "Strange Kind Of Woman". That song should have been included only as a bonus on "Firebal", as well as "When a Blind Man Cries" on "Machine Head" or "Painted Horse" on "Who Do We think We Are". Missed opportunity. Unfortunately even separate japanese mini-LP versions of these albums which I own suffer from the same - they released US versions. This should be bearing in mind for potential customers.
