TV Star is the seventh instalment in the fantastic Dork Diaries series and carries on from where Holiday Heartbreak left off. Nikki's life is actually going ok (surprise surprise!) and suddenly it's even better - she's getting her own reality TV show! Obviously it's exciting, life-changing stuff, but we all know that being followed around all day isn't all it's cracked up to be...

Nikki still has her fair share of obstacles and drama in TV Star. MacKenzie is still on the warpath, things with Brandon aren't going as well as she'd hoped and her packed schedule is exhausting. She finds out that being famous isn't the most important thing in life, and really it's friends and family that matter most.

TV Star is another excellent addition to this series that has become one of my all-time favourites. Tweens are so lucky to have an accessible series like this that is funny and honest - I wish it had existed when I was younger. Rachel Renee Russell's diary format glimpses into Nikki Maxwell's life are ones that will resonate with so many readers, young or old, and either help them with similar situations or make them think back to a time when life was somewhat simpler. We've all got a hidden dork!

As always, this book is entertaining, enjoyable and brilliantly illustrated. After seven books I now feel like Nikki, Chloe and Zoey are my friends, and I hope this series continues for a long time to come. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book already!

This was an amazing book. I rated it five stars because Nikki's life is filled with so much drama that you never get bored. This story sums up all of the Dork Diaries books: Numbers 1 to 7. I recommend this book to ages 9-13 depending on what sort of stories you like.

***Review on behalf of Orchard Book Club Mini Reviewers***

I really enjoyed this book from the Dork Diaries series. Its one of the first books i have read by the author and can not wait to read the next one.

I like the way the book is set out, It looks like a school book with the lines on the page and the pictures are FAB! (made me want to colour them in) and some of them very funny.... I think this adds to the reading of the book.

I like how each day has a diary entry from Nikki.....i sometimes felt like i had stolen her diary! I could imagine having her as a friend hehe i think she has a school life like any other kid (apart from the TV part) friend problems, embarrassing family and even boys!! (how gross is that!)

I liked that i could put this book down but easily get back into the story quickly when i started it again :) Its a fun read and i think many of my friends would enjoy this.

I hope all of Rachel Renée Russell books are as easy to read as this one was and i hope to be able to read and review many more of hers in the future. I know my best friend would enjoy this so i will give this review copy to her :)

I haven't read it yet, but I read all the reviews and it sounds totally epic. I get the story and it sounds dorkalicious. I have read some other books in the dork dairies series before, Rachel Renee Russel is just so awesome I know. And O M G Nikki really gets her first ever kiss with Brandon SQUEEEEE!!!! I am now totally going to get this book.

I did read one dork dairy (cant remember which) and Nikki and Brandon were about to kiss when Brianna popped up between them and shouted BOO! Nikki and Brandon thought it was all very funny at the time, but I almost cried! So I am really glad that they get to kiss in this one.

This a teen/tween series, perfect for keeping your 9 - 15 year old girl occupied and entertained for hours as they will read it over again and again. I can't wait any longer until I get it so infact I am going to get it now and start reading. See ya, hope you enjoy it!

‘Tales from a Not-So-Glam TV Star’ written and illustrated by Rachel Renée Russell is the seventh installment in her popular Dork Diaries series.

The book is made in form of diary, written in the notebook with lines, full of drawings and colloquial speech, and as was the case for the previous installments it will good entertainment for its audience – mainly young teenagers.

In this newest sequel main character book Nikki will get her own TV show but because she will have too many responsibilities and not enough time, she will have problem synchronizing all her commitments.

Besides thinking of work, Nikki is in love with Brandon - therefore she spends time helping him with the top secret special project, however surprise awaits reader… Dork Diaries #7 is another must-read for children who enjoyed previous NIki installments, though for those who for the time encounter with Nikki adventures, I would recommend to start reading series from the beginning.

Good, funny, entertaining title that will not win you with its looks, but with the style certainly will.
