Lets get the technical bits out of the way. I have tried surround sound dont like it for classical music.
Use a good DAC and your CD/DVD/Bluray players become transports sending your digital music as bitstreams via Optical or HDMI
I have found this takes the hard edges off digital music whilst retaining the clarity
So to this recording made in the 1980s..in CD form it will cost you nearly twice the price
Well packaged on 2 blu ray audio discs with a full booklet
Onscreen you have full track information for each track playing and track selection by list. Also crucially I think you have the sound output choices.5..1 DTS..4.0 DTH and 2.0 WAV all sampled at 96khz..I use the last output through DAC then stereo amp.sounds great with good headphones too.
These are good performances. If you start with the 6th Symphony you will want to listen to the rest
The sound clarity seems very uncompressed and you can hear far more of the music and instruments than you do on a CD
As a complete set of Beethoven symphonies to play with your blu ray player at a good price I can definitely recommend this set..just make sure your listening system is up to it
