Almost great set let down by missing special features
on 16 July 2015
This Blu-ray boxset comprises HD releases of 3 of the 6 Audrey Hepburn films previously released on DVD by Paramount (the others - Roman Holiday, My Fair Lady & Paris When It Sizzles still await this treatment). The main draw here is Breakfast At Tiffany's, both for the superior picture quality and for the many extras. All of those from the DVD release are carried over as well as several news ones which are presented in HD. Sadly the same treatment has not been offered to the other films here. Both Sabrina & Funny Face already looked stellar on their DVD releases and to be honest, there's not much difference here. Not a problem when they were already that good to begin with, however what lets these two blu-rays down is that none of the special features from the DVDs have been carried over, meaning you get the film and nothing else. Very lazy behaviour from Paramount which unfortunately diminishes the overall release. The films of course are wonderful (Funny Face is my favourite) and provided you get it cheap this boxset is worth it if you don't have the previous DVDs, otherwise you might as well buy Breakfast At Tiffany's separately for the marvellous restoration job and generous special features.
