I have reviewed this good value 2-CD set for "Clarinet&Saxophone" (the quarterly journal of the Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Great Britain) by a subjective assessment of Tony's clarinet solos across the 35 tracks. Even tho' 8 tracks get two stars or less (out of five) a pleasing number get 4 or 5 stars. A very interesting performance for students of jazz clarinet - this guy formed the 'bridge' between Artie Shaw and Buddy DeFranco and, in my view, has an important place in jazz clarinet history.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tony Scott 2 CD, 8 Jan. 2014

A bit of a mixed bag. Tony Scott was a bit of an eclectic and this music is, I suppose, possibly, therefore a good sample of his work. He plays with musicians of various persuasions and the results are always at least acceptable and often very good indeed. Well worth a listen
